Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she was once advised by a former manager to get a breast enlargement – and had the most iconic reaction.
The singer, 43, is currently on tour and performed her Studio Sessions show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas over the weekend.
In a moment that saw her chat to the audience, she wondered out loud if her ‘boobs’ slipped out of her low-cut black catsuit she was wearing on stage.
She then had her audience in stitches as she enthusiastically told an outrageous story that saw a former manager ask her to get a breast enhancement.
‘I had some d**k manager one time tell me to get a boob job,’ she began. ‘I was like, ‘Why don’t you get a d**k job?’ Like, what? I’m fine with my itty-bitty t**ties! Get out of here!
‘Who says that s**t? People say that s**t. They say it all the time to people in the industry. They say the craziest s**t. I’m like, “This is not normal. You’ve normalised crazy.”‘
She then added that plastic surgery in Hollywood was comparable to the dystopian society in a young adult novel.
‘Everybody’s out here looking like they’re in The Capitol in The Hunger Games,’ she said.
‘Do you. Don’t make me do you. I like my itty-bitty t**ties. They’ve served me well,’ she concluded.
Clarkson didn’t reveal which ex-manager specifically made the remarks, but has been managed by several different people during her career.
She has previously been managed by American Idol’s Simon Fuller after launching her career on the show in 2002. She was also managed by talent manager Jeff Kwatinetz.
Her former father-in-law, Narvel Blackstock, was another one of her managers. She was previously married to Narvel’s son, Brandon Blackstock, who died earlier this year at age 48.
Kelly cancelled dates in her Las Vegas residency after the news to ‘be fully present’ with her children.
The couple shared two children, 11-year-old River Rose and nine-year-old Remington Alexander.
‘While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,’ she wrote on social media. ‘I appreciate your grace, kindness, and understanding.’
She continued her tour on November 7, after cancelling four August dates.
