In a post on Threads, Russell said that his ex-wife threatened to keep him <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/kimora-lee-simmons-reveals-acts-mom-diddys-twin-daughters.html/”>from their daughters</a> if he sued her. Kimora responded by telling Russell to focus more on his life than on her comments about him.</p>

<p id=”par-2_33″>Russell and Kimora <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/russell-simmons-claps-back-at-his-ex-wife-how-many-kids-does-kimora-lee-simmons-have.html/”>share two daughters</a>, Ming Lee Simmons and Aoki Lee Simmons. In recent years, the couple’s adult daughters have distanced themselves from their father. Kimora spoke about this in an interview. </p>
<p id=”par-3_39″>“Usually I would say that I co-parent okay, but the kids are with me full-time,” she told <a href=”https://people.com/kimora-lee-simmons-doesnt-have-a-relationship-with-her-kids-fathers-exclusive-11866184″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a>. “I’m pretty much the primary parent. It’s difficult, but I don’t know sometimes what other people are thinking. Guys are weird.”</p>

<p id=”par-4_23″>She noted that she doesn’t “have a relationship really” with Russell either. Russell later responded to these comments in a post on Threads.</p>

<p id=”par-6_37″>“I have been fighting for my kids love and my bread ever since,” he continued. “You threatened that <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/why-russell-simmons-is-suing-his-ex-wife-kimora-lee-simmons.html/”>if I sued</a> you, I would never speak to my kids again. <p id=”par-7_27″>Shortly afterward, Kimora responded to Russell’s post about her. She noted that their daughters are adults who would be free to see them if they wanted to.</p>
<p id=”par-8_16″>“My ‘girls’ are GROWN WOMEN!” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “You know these are lies.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_18″>She then slammed him for residing in Bali. He fled there in 2018 following rape allegations against him.</p>
<p id=”par-10_22″>“Why are you typing from thousands of miles away in a non extradition country?” Kimora asked. “Go negotiate and Answer your Accusers.”</p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-what-are-the-allegations-against-him”>What are the allegations against him?</h2>
<p id=”par-11_62″>Beginning in 2017, at least a dozen women came <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/russell-simmons-kimora-lee-simmons-underage.html/”>forward with allegations</a> of sexual assault and rape against Simmons. After the third allegation against him, Simmons stepped down from his roles as head of Def Jam Records, his yoga brand, CNNMoney, and more. In 2018, he moved to Bali, in what many believe to be a move to avoid his legal woes.</p>
<p id=”par-12_58″>“People saying that I somehow can’t come home when I’m there all the time wears on you,” he told <a href=”https://allhiphop.com/news/russell-simmons-denies-hes-in-hiding-amid-lawsuits/#google_vignette” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>AllHipHop</a>. “It wears on me after a while to keep hearing the same narrative, which is false. I’m always in L.A., I’m always in New York and Miami. And I’ve never had any reason to feel unsafe in America.”</p>
