Kris Jenner has officially found her new spring hairstyle.
The 69-year-old now has a pixie bob, also known as a ‘bixie.’ The style gets its name because it has the length and shape of a bob, but the choppy look of a pixie. Considering Jenner is best known for her classic pixie cut, this look is an easy transition for her.
Several noted that Jenner’s new haircut makes her look remarkably similar to one of her younger daughters. “Kendall is that you?” several fans wrote in the Instagram comments.
Along with the longer style, hairstylist Justin Marjan also gave her thick, eyebrow-grazing bangs, which give the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch a softer look. A black bow that held back the top portion of her hair added an extra touch of youthfulness.
Jenner’s Recent Hair Transformations Have People Doing Double-Takes
Three weeks ago, Jenner debuted a wet, blunt bob that was noticeably longer than her usual hairstyle. Posted on her Instagram, the slicked-back look fell about two inches below her ear and featured a curl on her forehead. Many couldn’t help but notice how much she resembled her daughters.
“Did anyone else think this was Kim with a new haircut?” one fan commented. “I’m so confused they are literally the same person.”
Her family also gave it their approval, with Kim Kardashian writing “gorge,” along with three hearts, and Khloe Kardashian writing, “I love you my queen.”
Her New Hair Is a Big Change After Years of Pixies
Jenner’s longer hairstyle is surprising to see, as she has rocked the short pixie for years. Sure, she sometimes switches it up with bangs, but otherwise, it is usually cut to the nape of her neck.
In 2018, she displayed a platinum blonde wig, but it was cut in her trademark style. In 2019, she briefly left her comfort zone to wear a chin-length blonde bob to the Met Gala, but that, again, was a wig.
Also in 2019, she sported a thicker chin-length bob, but it turned out that it wasn’t her hair. “I created this look by adding clip in extensions,” stylist Jorge Serrano told PAPER. “Kris has been growing her hair out and we wanted instant gratification on what her hair would look like with some length.”
It’s hard to know when Jenner became so attached to the pixie cut. In flashback photos from her twenties, she’s often seen with chin-length or longer hair. But as the kids grew up, her hair got shorter.
Now that Jenner is getting overwhelmed with compliments about her new hairstyle, perhaps she’ll decide it’s worth keeping for a while.
