Lewis Capaldi had a witty response to some of the backlash he received when it was announced that he would be headlining Latitude festival.

The twentieth anniversary of the festival is set to take place in Henham Park in Suffolk this summer, with the line-up announced on November 3, once tickets have already been purchased.

It was announced that Lewis is set to headline on Sunday night, with Dave Byrne and Teddy Swims taking the top spot respectively on Friday and Saturday night.

The news has received some backlash, with not all of the ticket holders totally impressed with the lineup, particularly given Glastonbury is set to have a fallow year in 2026, which means more people will be looking to attend smaller festivals.

Despite criticism, the Scottish singer, 29, had the perfect response to one salty fan online.

‘I want a refund, Lewis f*****g Capaldi?! Already spent £800 on tickets,’ said CraigSh17821849 on X.

‘See you there bro x’ replied Lewis.

Festivalgoers took to social media to complain, calling the lineup announcement ‘daylight robbery’.

‘I am gutted. £670 to take the family to a festival and I now feel sick after looking at this lineup,’ said duncarmour.

‘£300 for these headliners is daylight robbery. By far the worst lineup I’ve seen in latitude history,’ said _ELZ_07.

‘Where do we get refunds from for the tickets already bought? That’s possibly the most underwhelming line-up I’ve seen since last years village fete …….’ said MarkmarkmarkD.

‘The music equivalent of mashed potato. Latitude bookers, you should be ashamed of yourselves,’ said kickthelastnail.

‘Good god this is awful, we had high hopes for the anniversary lineup. What a let down. Is this what festivals have become?’ asked scottispurs.

Lewis didn’t seem too bothered by some of the negative reactions as he joined Tucker Pillsbury, performing as Role Model, on stage during his opening UK performance at the No Place Like Tour.

The singer appeared on stage during the song, Sally, When the Wine Runs Out and danced with Tucker during the bridge, something that many A-listers have been doing throughout Role Model’s tour.

Lewis’s surprise appearance was met with screams from the crowd as Lewis sang the song with Tucket while dancing, and clutching a beer bottle, clearly not taking himself too seriously.

The performance ended with an onstage cuddle as Lewis gave Tucker a quick hug before waving goodbye to the crowd.
