
Disney has officially dropped the trailer for “Freakier Friday”, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2003 comedy hit “Freaky Friday”.
Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are back, reprising their roles as Tess and Anna in this updated body-swap adventure.
Years Later, Tess and Anna Face a New Family Swap Crisis
The film picks up “years after Tess and Anna endured an identity crisis,” according to the official synopsis. “Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.”
What’s New in the “Freakier Friday” Trailer
The trailer gives fans their first look at the new family dynamics â and a few surprise faces. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Rosalind Chao, Vanessa Bayer, and Mark Harmon join the cast. But one of the biggest reveals is the return of Freaky Friday heartthrob Chad Michael Murray as Jake, Anna’s old crush.
In a funny twist, Annaâs daughter Harper ends up in her momâs body and tries to reunite Anna and Jake, all to stop her momâs upcoming wedding.

Chad Michael Murray Says Lindsay Lohan âOwned Itâ in Reunion Scene
Last month, Chad Michael Murray talked about the record store scene from the trailer, where Harper (in Anna’s body) tries to flirt with Jake but doesnât quite succeed.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly, he said, âThere was so much creativity, and everybody just having fun. I loved watching Lindsay own it. It was like, ‘Oh, there she is.ââ He added that it felt like a real moment for the whole cast. âJust the moment of Jake and the bike and pulling up, you could just see the 23-year-old version of all of us that knew the film, come to life.â

Directed by Nisha Ganatra, “Freakier Friday” hits theaters on August 8. The film is based on the original book by Mary Rodgers and continues the fun, heartfelt chaos of family, identity, and second chances.
