Lisa Kudrow Shares Her Thoughts on Joining “The White Lotus” Season 4

How wonderful it would be to have Lisa Kudrow checking into the next season of “The White Lotus”? Well, Lisa Kudrow isn’t ruling out her stay!

Lisa Kudrow, 61, joined Parker Posey for the June 6 episode of Variety’s Actors on Actors, where the two chatted about their careers and current projects.

While discussing Posey’s popular role in Season 3 of “The White Lotus”, she turned to Kudrow and asked the question fans have been dying to know: Would she consider joining the next season?

“Work with Mike White? Yes. I love Mike White. I’ve hung out with him at a party,” Kudrow said, praising the show’s creator.

Posey chimed in, “He gets around,” to which Kudrow replied, “He’s social. And Brad’s Status was my favorite movie that year. I emailed him to let him know, because I had to — it was so good, I had to. I don’t do that a lot.”

Posey pushed further, saying, “Oh, Lisa, you should be in Season 4. If there’s a big enough TikTok campaign, then it’ll happen.” Kudrow laughed it off, but added a more thoughtful note: “And I might not be [White’s] cup of tea, which is allowed to happen too. But I do get nervous about inhabiting things that are too dark; I try to avoid that.”

Fresh off a role in a recent Netflix series, the Emmy winner, best known for playing the iconic Phoebe Buffay on “Friends”, brings both comedy chops and star power.

Over the years, she’s appeared in standout roles in “Booksmart”, “Long Shot”, “Grace and Frankie”, and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”. And with a personal connection to creator Mike White, her chances of joining the cast are more than just wishful thinking, especially with Parker Posey publicly cheering her on!

Posey Reflects on Season 3 — And the Fake Blood

Kudrow then reflected further and asked if Posey had to go dark during Season 3, to which she answered, not really — “except for the scenes where your head’s blown off,” Kudrow noted. “But it’s pretend.”

Parker Posey took on the role of the sharp-tongued, pill-popping Ratliff family matriarch in “The White Lotus”, set in Thailand. Her character made it out alive — even with her husband (Jason Isaacs) secretly imagining some dark scenarios — but not everyone in the season was as fortunate.

The star-studded season also featured Michelle Monaghan, Natasha Rothwell, Carrie Coon, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and more. HBO renewed “The White Lotus” for Season 4 back in January, but no new casting or location details have been confirmed.

Creator Mike White teased a different tone this time. In Unpacking the Episode on Max, White said, “For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the ‘crashing waves against rocks’ vernacular. But there’s always room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.”
