Lorraine viewers were treated to an A-list interview on Friday, as Alexander Skarsgård joined Ranvir Singh on the ITV show.
Fresh off his show-stopping turn at Cannes – where he drew eyeballs with a red carpet walk in thigh-high leather boots – Skarsgård again opted for an offbeat wardrobe for his interview on the daytime show.
Skarsgård’s outfit was a perfect high-low mix, donning a shirt and tie underneath a beige jacket on top, paired with chequered micro shorts, brogues and calf-length tube socks.
Skarsgård first chatted about his new Apple TV Plus show Murderbot, in which he plays a robot who gains free will and must keep it a secret, before Singh brought up his outfit.
She said: ‘Your fashion, and can I just mention it today, you’ve got your legs out. You’re wearing shorts, which is the theme of the fashion segment today. Your fashion is so out there and free.’
Skarsgård thanked her and explained how he picked out the outfit, saying: ‘I wanted to be sexy today.

‘There’s nothing sexier than a middle-aged man in a British schoolboy uniform.’
Singh – who hosts the show in Lorraine Kelly’s stead on Fridays – then asked him to stand up and show off the full look, which he obligingly did, complete with a curtsy in the studio. Laughter and applause were heard from the crew behind the camera.
Lorraine viewers at home were left bemused by Skarsgård’s appearance on the show, with @FlopsyPickle writing on X (formerly Twitter): ‘Alex has always had a wacky style.’
@TerryF1010 added: ‘He’s still gorgeous, regardless of his odd fashion choices,’ as @Helen909King joked: ‘He’s dressed for the British weather I suppose.’
@nic_kennedy1 wrote: ‘Alexander Skarsgard on Lorraine was an experience…. There was no shot without knee in it, then he stood up. Wow…. Someone forgot his trousers again. Seeing a theme here sir! #LegsOut.’
@bogeyno2 simply wrote: ‘Alexandra Skarsgard is an ICON.’
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
