Luke Wilson Surprises Fans With Bold New Blond Look

Luke Wilson

Luke Wilson — best known for his roles in comedies like “Legally Blonde” and “Old School” — debuted a dramatic transformation on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, stepping out with bleached blond hair that instantly caught attention.

The actor served as Grand Marshal at the 93rd annual Hollywood Christmas Parade, where he flaunted his new look alongside a red-and-blue flannel shirt, blue slacks, and a tweed gray jacket.

The unexpected hair change drew immediate comparisons to his brother, fellow actor Owen Wilson, long known for his signature blond locks.

It’s a dramatic shift from Luke’s usual darker hair, making the transformation all the more striking to fans and media alike.

A Fresh Look & ‘Legally Blonde’ Buzz

At this point, no official reason has been given for Wilson’s bleach-blond makeover.

Whether the change is a personal style decision, a grooming experiment for the holidays, or preparation for a future role remains unknown.

The transformation also comes at an interesting moment — the entertainment industry has been buzzing about the potential revival of the “Legally Blonde” franchise, with a prequel series reportedly in development.

He told TODAY in January of 2025 that the fate of having a third installment remains a mystery to him.

“I think Reese [Witherspoon] has been working over the years, trying to put something together, and Reese is just so smart. She’s not just going to do a Part 3,” he said at the time.

However, he does believe that there is an audience for it.

“And especially after something like ‘Barbie,’ there’s certainly an audience out there for something that’s very funny and light, but also has a positive message,” Wilson added. “So, I’m just hoping that they do it while we still can.”

This Isn’t the First Time Wilson Has Changed His Hair

He actually ended up wearing a wig for the ending of “Legally Blonde.”

In March of 2018, co-writer of the film Karen McCullah told Entertainment Weekly both Witherspoon and Wilson wore wigs as the ending was reshot.

“Luke [Wilson] had on a wig because he’d shaved his head for ‘The Royal Tenenbaums,’” McCullah said. “The whole graduation scene is shot in London, but all the reaction shots were in Burbank in a soundstage. If you look really closely, you’ll notice the lighting’s a little bit different.”

Witherspoon wore a wig for a slightly different reason. “She’d cut off her hair because it had gotten damaged from all the hot rollers, so they put her in a wig,” McCullah added.
