Organisers of LIDO festival have announced a major schedule change for 2026, confirming the event will no longer take place in June in order to protect ground conditions in Victoria Park.
Instead, the festival will move to late summer, with a one-off rescheduled date set for 31 August.
Electronic duo Maribou State will now perform on the new date, along with all of their planned support acts.
However, the other previously planned events will no longer go ahead.
The 12 June bill featuring CMAT, Father John Misty, and Sharon Van Etten has been cancelled, along with the 14 June show headlined by Bombay Bicycle Club and Metronomy.
Ticketholders for both dates will receive full refunds.
Festival organisers stressed that the changes are not the fault of the artists or London Borough of Tower Hamlets, both of whom were described as fully supportive of the decision.
The move comes as part of efforts to safeguard the park following a period of extreme weather.
Last summer’s drought caused widely reported dust issues, prompting an extensive reseeding and restoration programme led by promoter AEG.
While those improvements have successfully restored the park to a strong condition for public use, organisers say the unusually wet winter has slowed ground recovery in some areas.

In a statement, organisers said the decision was taken independently, with Tower Hamlets council approving the revised schedule to prioritise community use of the space.
Officials also confirmed there would be no financial impact on the borough, and that AEG’s commitments to local community programmes and planned investment in Victoria Park remain unchanged.
CMAT, one of the most anticipated acts of the festival, posted a statement to fans on Instagram following the news.
She wrote: ‘Hi everybody. I am very very sorry to tell you that due to issues with the ground at Victoria Park, Lido Festival has to move to new dates in August, and as a result, I – like others on the bill – am no longer able to play.
‘As a result our Lido show can’t be rescheduled and won’t go ahead. Automatic refunds are available from the promoter.
‘I am truly devastated not to be able to play this festival. I realise this will cause issues for some of you who have bought tickets and may be travelling and for that I can only say sorry.’
Fans were quick to share their dissapointment in the comments, with one writing they were ‘gutted’ over the news while others begged for the singer to schedule another London date.
Further details on the rescheduled August event and refund processes are available via official ticketing platforms.
