Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey has credited a bizarre ‘wet dream’ he had for his happy marriage and idyllic home life.

The Interstellar star, 56, has been happily married to Brazilian-American model and designer Camila Alves in 2012.

The pair first met in a nightclub in Los Angeles in 2006, when McConaughey was mixing drinks for his friends.

Of their first meeting, Matthew has now said: ‘She showed up, and she moved right to left in front of my eyes across that club. It was as if she was floating.’

Speaking told People, he added: ‘And I did not say, “Who is that?” I said, “What is that?” And then introduced myself. Since that evening, I have not wanted to spend time with any other woman.’

The pair share three children – 17-year-old son Levi, daughter Vida, 15, and their brother Livingston, 12.

The Failure to Launch star has now revealed how a wet dream he had in his thirties led to his meeting and falling for Camila, 42.

In the latest edition of his newsletter, Lyrics of Livin’, Matthew reflected on his roamin’ bachelor years – during which time he dated Hollywood starlets Ashley Judd, Sandra Bullock and Penelope Cruz.

‘In my mid-30s, I was looking for a lifetime lover, a best friend, and a mother-to-be. I was looking for more, I was looking for the one, I was looking for her,’ Matthew said.

‘Then I had a wet dream,’ he revealed.

In this dream, the actor was gathered, on his 88th birthday with 88 children, and the 22 women he’d fathered them with.

He recalled how each woman was ‘serene and satisfied,’ while the children were ‘smiling, laughing, and healthy.’

Matthew and his extended dream-family then gathered for a photo, taken on a large-format box camera, on his driveway.

‘Three! Two! One! Then I came,’ he revealed.

To Matthew, this was a ‘spiritual sign’ that he must ‘quit so intentionally to find the perfect woman for me and, rather, concede to the natural selection process of finding her, her finding me, or not. So I quit looking for her.’

Enter Camila.

‘Then she came,’ Matthew shared. ‘Three months later, I met Camila. Twenty years later she’s still the only woman I’ve ever wanted to take on a date, sleep with, or wake up next to.’

After meeting in 2006 and welcoming two children together, Matthew proposed to Camila on Christmas Day in 2011.

According to People, Matthew proposed with a rose-cut Cathy Waterman ring, hidden within several boxes of varying sizes.

‘It was the last gift to be opened and I wrapped it in seven different boxes so Camila would have to keep unwrapping,’ he told the publication.

‘She got the ring, I took a knee and asked her to marry me and take my name. After a bit, she conceded … thankfully.’

Since tying the knot, Matthew and Camila have been inseparable, even implementing a ‘nine-day rule’ which means they never spend more than nine days apart.

Earlier this year, Matthew revealed another secret to their happy marriage… and it’s all down to the size of the bed.

Speaking on Fox News Digital, the actor shared: ‘I wake up one morning … I’m looking over there, and Camila’s like a football field away, man.’

He continued: ‘You’re like, “Man, this damn king-size bed is not good for the marriage, man. Get rid of that son of a b****.”‘

‘So we got a queen-size, where we’re shoulder to shoulder. I’m telling you, it’s good for your marriage.’
