Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, and Anne Hathaway are stepping back into high fashion.
The award-winning actors were spotted filming scenes for “The Devil Wears Prada 2” in New York City this week, marking their on-screen reunion nearly two decades after the original film premiered.
Returning Favorites & New Faces Join the Sequel
Streep, 76, reprises her role as Miranda Priestly, the no-nonsense editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, while Tucci, 64, returns as Nigel Kipling, the publicationâs loyal art director.
The stars were photographed on July 28 in polished designer looks on set in Midtown, where production is currently underway.
New additions to the cast include Kenneth Branagh, who will portray Mirandaâs husband, and Patrick Brammall, best known for co-creating “Colin From Accounts.” According to Entertainment Weekly, Brammall steps in as Andyâs new love interest, replacing Adrian Grenierâs character, Nate.
Adapted from Lauren Weisbergerâs best-selling novel, the original film followed Andy, a recent college grad who lands a job at the elite fashion magazine Runway. Despite her lack of interest in couture, Andyâs journey tests her values, career ambitions, and personal relationships.

Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, & Meryl Streep Reunite
Directed by David Frankel, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2006 hit began filming on June 30 and is slated for release on May 1, 2026, per People. Alongside the original trio, Emily Blunt will also return as Mirandaâs former assistant, Emily Charlton.
Fans were thrilled to learn that Hathaway would reprise her iconic role as Andy Sachs in the upcoming sequel. This past week, the Oscar winner was spotted filming scenes in New York City, donning a series of high-fashion looks as she stepped back into the role of the ambitious assistant-turned-journalist.
In one scene, Hathaway appeared effortlessly chic in a gray-and-black ensemble, paired with statement sunglasses and a classic pearl necklace.
The upcoming sequel will explore how Miranda navigates her role as print publishing declines and battles for advertising dollars against Emily, now a high-powered executive at a luxury fashion conglomerate, according to Variety.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Blunt addressed early reports of tension between her character and Miranda in the new script.
âWhy are Meryl and I so mean to each other in every movie we do?â she joked, referencing their work together in âInto the Woodsâ and âMary Poppins Returns.â She added, âLetâs hope we remedy it. Iâm not sure.â
Blunt, now 42, also reflected on how quickly time has passed since filming the original movie. âTwenty years ago â in a blink, it’s gone by.â
