
New information has emerged following the passing of actor Michael Madsen. The 67-year-old “Kill Bill” actor was found unresponsive in his Malibu home on July 3.
A representative has confirmed to Fox News Digital that he died from heart failure, with heart disease and alcoholism listed as contributing factors. According to the rep, an autopsy will not be conducted. Madsenâs longtime cardiologist signed the death certificate following the incident.

Just before his passing, Madsen had several creative projects in the works and was energized about what was ahead.
âIn the last two years, Michael Madsen has been doing some incredible work with independent film, including upcoming feature films Resurrection Road, Concessions, and Cookbook for Southern Housewives, and was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life,â a statement from his team read. He had also been preparing to release a book titled “Tears for My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems”, which is currently being edited.
âMichael Madsen was one of Hollywoodâs most iconic actors, who will be missed by many,â said his managers, Susan Ferris and Ron Smith, along with publicist Liz Rodriguez, to The Hollywood Reporter.

Vivica A. Fox, who worked with Madsen on “Kill Bill”, paid tribute to her former co-star in a heartfelt statement shared with The New York Post. âMichael was a talented man with an AMAZING on-screen presence! My deepest condolences & prayers to his family,â she said. â#GoneTooSoon #RestInParadise.â
Though known for his hard-edged on-screen roles, Madsen described a very different personal life. In a 2018 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he opened up about the disparity between his public image and his private reality.
âFame is a two-edged sword,â he said. âThere are a lot of blessings but also a lot of heavy things that come with it⦠I think Iâve been more believable than I should have been. I think people really fear me⦠They see me and go: âHoly s—, thereâs that guy!ââ
He added: âBut Iâm not that guy. Iâm just an actor. Iâm a father, Iâve got seven children. Iâm married, Iâve been married 20 years. When Iâm not making a movie, Iâm home, in pajamas, watching The Rifleman on TV, hopefully with my 12-year-old making me a cheeseburger.â
