Shaun Weiss, who played Greg Goldberg in The Mighty Ducks, said he was working to find a space in a treatment facility for Chase, who played Martin Qwerly on Ned’s Declassified, which ran from 2003 to 2007. Weiss has had his own struggles with drug use and homelessness.

“I have received many messages about Tylor Chase,” Shaun, 47, said in a December 22 Instagram video. “I reached out to some friends of mine, and we have a bed for him at a detox. We have a place for him to go and get long-term treatment, thanks to my buddy Mike Jordan at Eleven 11 Recovery. All we need to do is find him. I’m not in Los Angeles or I would go look for him myself.”

In a follow-up video, Weiss said that there had been an “overwhelming amount of love and support for Tylor.”

“We have found him, we have made contact with him, and we’re working very hard to get him into treatment. So, fingers crossed,” he shared.

Chase’s Ned’s Declassified co-star Daniel Curtis Lee also sprang into action when the actor was hesitant to go to a hospital.

“Shaun Weiss and his team put a lot of effort into trying to get him into a hospital last night, and I thought it worked … but it turns out, he kind of backed out,” Lee said in a December 23 <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/daniel_curtis_lee/?hl=en” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram update.

Lee – who played Cookie on the Nickelodeon show – decided to track down Chase himself. After locating him, he took him out for pizza, arranged a FaceTime call with their co-star Devon Werkheiser, who played Ned, and got him a hotel room for the night so he would not be outside in the rain.

In a video posted the previous day, Lee explained that he was searching for ways to help Chase afford treatment and get back on his feet. He said that Chase’s mother advised against giving him money directly, leading Lee to explore other options, such as a rehabs that offered scholarships.

“I’m also looking for guidance from a financial advisor on setting up a trust where funds are released only after successful completion of a program,” he captioned the post. “We want to do this the right way—safe, structured, and supportive.”
