Miley Cyrus has revealed she ended up in intensive care when her leg ‘began to disintegrate’ after a gruesome injury.
The Flowers singer is set to release her upcoming album, Something Beautiful, on May 30, which is accompanied by a film with the same name.
It turns out the 32-year-old went above and beyond for the project, and shot footage at the Hollywood Walk of Fame for a song aptly titled Walk of Fame – with clips of her writhing around on the floor at night, surrounded by those iconic stars.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, she confessed that she ‘caught’ something while rolling around the hotspot, and went to hospital over Thanksgiving last year.
‘You’re rolling around on the ground,’ Jimmy began, to which she interjected: ‘I caught something.’
‘You’re lucky you didn’t get a hypodermic needle in your body,’ he replied.
‘Funny you say that,’ Miley said. ‘I filmed this video in October and by November, at Thanksgiving, I was put in the ICU for a moment – just for a momen.
‘But it was mostly because it was Thanksgiving, there were a lot of people in the ER.
Although Miley didn’t shed light on how she sustained such a painful injury, she confessed the doctor was ‘disgusted’ by the ordeal.
‘My leg began to disintegrate in some way around the kneecap area,’ she continued.
‘The doctor goes, “Do you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?” And I just saw myself [dancing around the Walk of Fame].
‘I had to tell him. To have a surgeon look at you and say, “Yuck”. They open up cadavers, they see inside the gut of humans and they’re looking at me, telling me I’m disgusting.’
When asked whether anyone had cleaned the area in preparation of Miley’s arrival, she declared: ‘Absolutely not. None of that.
‘With this movie, I had a big dream and a small budget – well, I had a pretty good budget but I spent it all on my clothes.
‘When it came time to go to the Walk of Fame, they were like: “So what are you going to do? Are you going to rent this thing or what? Because that’s really out of your price range…”
‘[I said], “No, we’ll just go in the middle of the night!” Have you been to the Walk of Fame in the middle of the night? I thought it was my last day.’
Thankfully, Miley lived to tell the tale but we doubt she’ll be hitting up the tourist attraction again anytime soon…
