Millie Bobby Brown wasn’t taking any prisoners at the Stranger Things premiere in London this week.

The 21-year-old star stepped out at the star studded event on Thursday night to celebrate the upcoming fifth and final season of the hit Netflix show.

However, things quickly took a turn when she reacted angrily to someone telling her to ‘smile’ on the red carpet.

‘Smile? You Smile,’ she shouted back at the group of photographers, pointing their way and quickly heading off in the opposite direction.

Millie was seen sporting a black corset and flowing tulle, which fell down her legs into a long train, while her Aldo pumps had a ‘011’ detail in an apparent nod to her character, Eleven.

Although some naysayers criticised Millie for her reaction, other fans have rallied behind the actress and praised her for calling out the photographers.

‘I mean the way they were telling her to smile. Definitely warranted,’ wrote @cascories on X, while @xJacqueline Rose said: ‘Wish more of them would do this.’

‘So valid. nothing puts you in a more rotten mood when someone tells you to smile,’ added @Bain_cristall, as @kenziesmithh1 agreed: ‘What the hell is this obsession with telling female celebs to smile?’

Not everyone was on the same page, as Instagram user @feridehikmetatak argued: ‘Why can’t just smile? They’re only asking Millie to smile so she’ll look good on camera.’

Last week, Millie joined co-stars including David Harbour at Netflix’s Los Angeles launch event for Stranger Things.

Just days earlier, there had been reports that she had accused David, 50, of ‘bullying and harassment’ on set, while Variety later reported that the complaint had been ‘resolved’.

The two co-stars, who have played Eleven and Jim Hopper ever since the Netflix hit launched in 2016, are reprising their roles in the fifth and final season.

The longtime castmates were beaming at the LA premiere as they shared a hug and some laughs, appearing to lay the rumours to rest as the official Stranger Things Instagram account shared a clip of the pair.

Millie was asked about her relationship with David as she chatted to reporters on the red carpet last week, and she was full of praise for her castmate, who wasn’t at the London event on Thursday due to filming commitments.

‘I’ve obviously had a really special bond with David because we have a father and daughter relationship, and we do every scene together. You really get to see that in season 5,’ she told Entertainment Tonight.

She added: ‘It’s been so special to have him along the journey for me. Winona, the kids. I’m really honoured to have played Eleven and have to met such amazing people along the way.’

Millie also told Extra: ‘It’s been amazing. We’re so lucky to have each other. The show means so much to the both of us and to everyone here.’

Stranger Things returns to Netflix on November 26.
