Netflix has just dropped the first two episodes of a Korean spy thriller that is already running up the streaming platform’s ranking of top 10 TV shows.

Agent Kim Reactivated centres around the meek office jobber Mr Kim (So Ji-sub), who is trying his damndest to manage his rebellious teenager Kim Min-ji (Seo Su-min) after the loss of his wife.

The father-daughter duo are cast as opposites from the off: Mr Kim apologises to Min-ji’s school after she takes on a trio of bullies, while she insists there is nothing to apologise for.

But then Min-ji goes missing and a grim trail of breadcrumbs points to a kidnapping, forcing Mr Kim to reveal who he really is.

If you didn’t get it from the name of the show or the name of this article, this supposedly mild 9-5er is actually a former black-ops spy.

Adapted from the webtoon Manager Kim, the first episodes dropped over the weekend in what will be a very un-Netflix weekly release schedule.

Written by Nam Dae-joong and directed by Yi Seung-young and Lee So-eun, it will be easy enough for you to catch up before the third episode drops this coming Friday and the fourth the following Saturday.

It’s clearly going down well with many Netflix viewers, if the top 10 ranking and IMDb reviews are anything to go by.
