WWE fans were left stunned at the end of this week’s Monday Night Raw as a new champion was crowned.
In a high stakes main event on Netflix, Jey Uso defended his World Heavyweight Championship in a WrestleMania rematch against GUNTHER – the man he beat for the gold.
The Ring General got his revenge, locking in a sleeper hold which made Uso pass out.
With that, GUNTHER became a two-time world champion almost two months after losing the title, and fans on social media were delighted with the move.
Plenty of people flooded X with messages claiming WWE boss Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque has ‘saved wrestling’ by returning to the Austrian bruiser as champ.

Uso’s youngest son Jace was at the event, and he joined his father in the ring after Raw went off the air as the former champ made an emotional speech.
‘Even though I lost, I’m so glad he was here with me, traveling the road with me. I really wanna say I’m sorry to my son. I’m sorry to everybody here. I fought my ass off,’ he said in front of the live crowd.
‘GUNTHER is that dude. One of the best athletes, one of the best pros I ever stepped foot in the ring with. At the end of the night, I got hella respect for that man, so give it up for GUNTHER.’
The 2025 Royal Rumble winner vowed to ‘run it back’, and went onto reveal he wishes all fans ‘could experience what we get to experience back there’ after walking through the curtains.
‘I’m very, very blessed, man. I stay humble in front of y’all. I love what I do, I don’t ever take this for granted, all right? I love all of y’all. Parents, appreciate y’all’s hard work, spending money to bring y’all’s loved ones to a show,’ he continued.
‘Kids, aye kids, real talk, tell your parents you love them, right? Listen to ‘em. Something simple as picking up after yourself means a lot. You feel me?
‘You all heard me say this a couple of times because I got kids. Pick up after yourself, say your prayers, wash y’all’s ass when it’s bedtime, don’t get no attitude, brush y’all teeth, you know what I’m saying?’
He ended the speech by getting the crowd to do his ‘Yeet’ catchphrase.
