Netflix Just Announced a Huge ‘Bridgerton’ Update ahead of Season 4

Bridgerton season four will be one of the biggest shows on Netflix.

When it comes to shows on Netflix, “Bridgerton” stands as one of the most popular. Now, the streaming giant has just announced that production on season four of the hit Shonda Rhimes series has concluded. 

According to the official Netflix X account, “You may now loosen your corsets. That’s a wrap on Bridgerton Season 4.” Notably, the post includes a humorous video of the cast saying goodbye while on the set of the hit series.

What We Know About “Bridgerton” Season Four

As with other shows on Netflix, the production crew around “Bridgerton” keeps plot points under wraps. As a result, not much is known about what fans can expect from “Bridgerton” season four. However, according to Teen Vogue, the show will likely be based on the third book from Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series, “An Offer from a Gentleman.

Regarding the plot, it seems much of the new installment of the show will focus on the romance between Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Beckett. Yerin Ha plays Sophie, and Luke Thompson plays Benedict. Notably, Yerin is new for this season of the show.

In terms of who’s returning, fans can expect to see the characters they’ve grown to love from the show. This includes Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, and more. 

Fans can expect “Bridgerton” season four to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2026. For context, the first part of the show’s third season premiered in May 2024, with part two released the following month. Netflix released the second season in March 2022. 

Will There Be a “Queen Charlotte” Season Two?

As “Bridgerton” became one of the most popular shows on Netflix, there was bound to be a spinoff. Then came “Queen Charlotte” in 2023. However, fans are thirsty for a season two, but there has been no concrete news about the show’s future. 

Variety asked Shonda Rhimes about the possibility of season two of the show in 2024. She said, “I feel like I’m having a conversation with Netflix! They ask me this question all the time! I’m trying to figure it out still.”

The television icon continued, “I don’t want to tell a story that doesn’t need to be told — do you know what I mean? I don’t want to make a second season of Queen Charlotte, and you’re going to be, like, Well, that was not that great.”
