The Oscar winner has officially applied for residency in Portugal. Despite swirling speculation, sources confirm that itâs not a sign that she and her husband, Keith Urban, are relocating anytime soon. People reported that Kidman, 58, submitted her application while she was filming “Practical Magic 2” in London.
Reports about the application surfaced after a Portuguese outlet, Sic Noticias, shared details about Kidman. The actress had visited the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum on Tuesday, July 22, to file her request.
Keith Urban Was Absent Due to Tour Commitments
Although multiple outlets reported that Kidman and her husband of 19 years, Keith Urban, were applying together, a source tells People that Urban, 57, was unable to attend due to his U.S. tour schedule. The country singer is slated to perform in Inglewood, California, on Saturday, July 26.
The couple, who share daughters Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14, currently reside in Nashville and have no immediate plans to relocate to Portugal. Kidman was spotted stepping off a private jet in Cascais, a luxurious coastal town near Lisbon. Reports say sheâs been eyeing property in the ultra-exclusive CostaTerra Golf & Ocean Club. It’s a gated 722-acre retreat south of the capital, popular among A-listers like George Clooney, Paris Hilton, and Princess Eugenie.
Kidman Shares On-Set Look at ‘Practical Magic 2’
The “Big Little Lies” star recently shared a behind-the-scenes moment from the set of Practical Magic 2 on Instagram. In the video posted on July 18, Kidman and her co-star, Sandra Bullock, can be seen embracing on their first day back as the Owens sisters.
“The witches are back ⨠Owens sistersâ first day on set! #PracticalMagic,” she captioned the video.
“Practical Magic 2” was officially confirmed by Warner Bros. earlier this year, with a release date set for September 18, 2026. Kidman and Bullock are both reprising their beloved roles as Gillian and Sally Owens. Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest will also return as the sistersâ quirky aunts.
The original film debuted in 1998 and has since become a cult favorite. Kidman told People magazine in June 2024 that she was excited to return to the role and reunite with Bullock for another magical adventure.
