In typical Kardashian fashion, Kylie Jenner is back for the 2026 Met Gala, and her look will make you do a double-take.
Jenner, eyebrows bleached, may look like she’s been caught in an embarrassing moment, but her Schiaparelli look is actually two dresses in one. And yes, it is very intentional.
Kylie Jenner Has a New Take on the “Naked Dress” Trend
While sheer dresses, or “Naked Dresses,” are more popular than ever on the red carpet, Jenner’s gown turns the trend on its head with a dress that looks, from a distance, like it’s actually falling off of her body. The bodice is a tightly fitted corset, just a few shades off from Jenner’s own skin tone. A voluminous, embellished white frock hangs off the makeup mogul’s form, as if she’s undressing at the end of a long night, when in reality it’s just beginning.
The whimsical look is exactly what Schiaparelli, the Italian fashion house behind Jenner’s look, is known for. Founded in 1957 by Elsa Schiaparelli, the label excels at a surrealist take on the human form, making the brand a perfect fit for the gala’s 2026 theme of “Costume Art,” and a natural favorite of the Kardashians.
In fact, Jenner’s most recent high-profile red-carpet look at the Academy Awards was a Schiaparelli design that the reality star liked so much that she wore it twice. For the ceremony, she opted to wear a red version of the brand’s signature keyhole design after previously wearing the same gown in black.
The Met Gala Is a Family Affair
While the Kardashians were once rumored to be banned from attending the event, those days are long gone. In fact, all five sisters and their mom, Kris Jenner, attended the fundraiser in 2022.
Jenner notably coordinated with her sister Kendall in coordinated showgirl-inspired Versace gowns before Kylie’s days of twinning on the red carpet with boyfriend Timothée Chalamet.
We’re Still Waiting On Kylie and Timothée Met Gala Debut
Speaking of Chalamet, fans hoping to see the loved-up couple walk the red carpet together for this year’s gala will have to wait. Although Chalamet has attended the Costume Institute’s big night in the past, the actor is absent from this year’s event. And, if you’ve been keeping up with the actor, you know there’s a decent chance he opted to watch the Knicks in the NBA playoffs instead tonight.
While they might be spending the night solo, Jenner and Chalamet are still going strong. Chalamet, a native New Yorker, took his partner of three years to the Knicks game on April 28, and “Celebrity Row” was about as star-studded as this year’s Met Gala. The couple sat between two famous pairs, with”30 Rock” and “Saturday Night Live” co-stars Tracy Morgan and Tina Fey on one side and Ben Stiller with wife Christine Taylor on the other.
