Noel Fielding is set to spill on TV tonight about an impulse buy he made after a particularly hard night of partying.

The 52-year-old Mighty Boosh comedy troupe alum is part of an 80s-themed Never Mind the Buzzcocks special, airing on Sky this evening.

In an exclusive clip for the Metro, Fielding can be seen regaling the show host, Taskmaster’s Greg Davies, with the tale.

Fielding is sat alongside the likes of fellow comedian Jamali Maddix, Loose Women’s Judi Love, pop duo Pepsi & Shirlie, 80s singer Martin Fry and American singer-songwriter Debbie Gibson on the special episode of the show.

In the clip, he says: ‘Greg, I did so many drugs once at a party, that the next day, someone knocked on the door and I bought two stone baboons for six grand,’ prompting laughter in the studio.

He adds: ‘I was like, what the f*** am I gonna do with them? How much? Six grand.’

Davies then asks what the Bake Off host did indeed do with the stone baboons, to which Fielding replies: ‘Well they look quite good, they’re in my house.

‘I have no recollection of buying them.’

The TV appearance from Fielding comes after Fielding made headlines earlier this year, when it was reported that the actor had left his Apple TV show in the middle of production for its second season.

Fielding starred in The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin as the titular Turpin, which saw a surprise seventh episode drop this month.

The surrealist show – which also featured Davies as a guest star – was abruptly cancelled in January, midway through production, with The Sun reporting that Fielding hadn’t returned to set after the Christmas break.

Fielding’s representatives said that filming had to be suspended due to the illness of a key cast member.

Dawn French, Miranda Richardson as well as sibling comedy stars Jamie and Natasia Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats) were due to take roles in the second season, according to Deadline. Alas, it looks like we won’t see it anytime soon.

What could have been a potentially long-running sitcom aired a final episode from the interrupted season two shoot, despite suggestions that nothing could be salvaged from existing footage.

Never Mind the Buzzcocks airs tonight at 9pm on Sky Max and streaming service NOW.
