He is now insisting it’s not nearly enough money to create “generational wealth.”</p>

He argued that if you spend $4 million per year, your earnings will be drained before you retire. The comment is being criticized for being wildly out of touch. Fans, other players, and podcasters are questioning exactly why Beckham Jr. thinks it’s reasonable to spend $4 million per year in the first place. They are also questioning what would have prompted him to go public with such a wild take.</p>
