Olivia Attwood has opened up on her relationship with Pete Wicks, telling Metro: ‘There’s no surprises with him.’
The former Love Island star, 38, has carved out her niche as a much-loved, and often brutally honest, personality and TV presenter nearly a decade after first appearing on our screens.
With Olivia’s House, which she calls her ‘baby’, now becoming the UK’s most successful female-fronted podcast, what is it about her that the public just loves so much?
‘I’ve always refused to make myself smaller for the industry or for the job I want. I think women should be multifaceted. We should be able to work hard and play hard like the boys do, and there shouldn’t be a shame or a stigma around that,’ she tells us.
The past year has been tumultuous for Olivia, but she’s as resilient as ever.
‘Typically, I’m not someone that’s great with change. I like familiarity,’ she explains after moving into her new London home following her split from husband Bradley Dack earlier this year. The pair were together for over a decade.
Olivia later claimed her ex ‘lied and cheated’ over the course of their relationship.
‘I’m settled in this place; I’m making new memories,’ she says, highlighting her new era.
This year has also seen a new and unexpected twist in her friendship with fellow reality TV star Pete Wicks, who she’s now dating.
The pair first met when on Towie in 2017 and have been close friends ever since, even hosting a radio show together on KISS FM.
Their fans are now branding them a ‘match made in heaven’.
‘The lovely thing is that I’ve known him for years 10 years and there’s not too many surprises. I know him, and he knows me and we’ve been sort of on the sidelines of each other’s lives through a lot of different eras,’ she tells us.
‘He’s everything I knew he was. He’s a very kind, funny person. We’re enjoying each other’s company a lot.’
Reacting to a viral video of Pete’s closest pal Sam Thompson staging a mock funeral for him just days after ‘hard-launching’ their relationship, Olivia joked: ‘It’s very funny. He comes up with these very creative concepts for social media and we laugh a lot.
‘I don’t know where he gets his ideas from, but I find them funny.’
Despite hosting ITV dating show Olivia Attwood’s Bad Boyfriends, the presenter doesn’t claim to be an expert on all things love. But her loyal following values her sincerity in the department.
‘I live my life very unapologetically. I’m very honest, people like it or don’t like it, but I don’t try and sell people a phony version of myself,’ she tells us.
‘I do get a lot of people messaging me being like, “My boss is being really mean to me, I had a What Would Liv Do moment”, or “My boyfriend didn’t come home last night, so I did a What Would Liv Do”.
‘I’m like, “Oh god, that’s so dangerous. Please don’t sue me!”’
