‘One Chicago’ Shows Get New Air Times in April 1, 2026 Schedule Shift

It seems like tonight’s TV lineup just got a little… chaotic. If you had your evening perfectly planned around the One Chicago lineup, you might want to grab that remote and adjust accordingly. A Presidential Address is stepping in and, yep, it’s shifting things around in a pretty noticeable way.

According to Deadline, the address is set to begin at 9:00pm ET and run for about 20 minutes. That timing? Not ideal for primetime TV. As a result, several fan-favorite shows are getting bumped, delayed, or straight-up interrupted mid-watch.

Let’s break down what that means; because there’s a lot going on.

‘Chicago Fire’ & ‘Chicago P.D.’ Fans; Here’s the New Game Plan

If you’re tuning in for your usual Wednesday night dose of drama, the good news is that “Chicago Med” is staying put. The series will air right on schedule at 8:00pm ET, so at least one part of your routine remains intact.

After that, though, things shift.

Because the address cuts right into the usual flow, “Chicago Fire” will now start at 9:20pm ET instead of its normal slot. Then comes “Chicago P.D.” at 10:20pm ET, pushing everything a bit later into the evening. Local news will follow at 11:20pm ET.

So yes, your night with Firehouse 51 and Intelligence is still happening… it’s just running fashionably late.

Honestly, it could be worse. At least the episodes aren’t getting postponed entirely. This way, fans still get their fix,  just with a slightly extended wait.

It’s Not Just ‘One Chicago’ Feeling the Impact

If you thought this was only affecting NBC, think again. Tonight’s schedule shake-up is hitting multiple networks, and a few big finales are caught right in the middle of it.

Both “The Masked Singer” season 14 finale and “Survivor” season 50 finale are expected to be interrupted mid-show. Yep, you read that right. Right when things are supposed to get dramatic, there’s going to be a pause. Not exactly ideal for suspense, but it definitely makes for a memorable viewing experience.

Meanwhile, other programs are simply getting delayed. That includes “America’s Culinary Cup,” “The Late Show,” and “The Tonight Show,” all of which will air later than usual.

Over on ABC, the vibe is a little different. Instead of shifting times around, the network is opting for reruns of “The Greatest Average American” and “Shark Tank” in place of new episodes. So if you were hoping for fresh content there, tonight might be more of a casual rewatch kind of evening.

A One-Night Shake-Up (We Promise)

The upside here? This isn’t a long-term schedule overhaul. It’s a one-night adjustment tied to a live national event. Everything should be back to normal before you know it.

And let’s be real; there’s something kind of fun about a TV night that doesn’t go exactly as planned. It keeps things interesting. Maybe it’s an excuse to grab an extra snack, scroll for a few minutes, or text your group chat like, “Wait… what time is ‘Chicago Fire’ on again?”

Either way, the shows are still coming, the finales are still happening, and your watchlist is still intact. Just… keep an eye on the clock tonight.

Because April 1 clearly chose chaos.
