Wayne Rooney was completely unrecognisable as he dressed as Mrs Doubtfire after watching the theatre production with his wife Coleen.

The legendary footballer, 39, and his wife, I’m A Celebrity star Coleen, 38, had a ‘date night’ trip to the theatre on Wednesday.

Coleen and Wayne watched Mrs Doubtfire at the Shaftesbury Theatre in the West End, with Coleencommenting that they ‘Really enjoyed the show…amazing cast, lots of laughs throughout.’

She then revealed that the laughs continued off-stage as her husband tried on the Mrs Doubtfire rubber face mask – and looked slightly frightening.

A video posted on Coleen’s story showed Wayne in the mask and wig as he did an impression of the iconic character saying ‘Hello my dear!’

The cast could be heard in peels of laughter in the background as they joked around with the celebrity couple.

The footballer was completely unrecognisable in the pictures posted by his wife as his features were hidden under heavy layers of rubber.

Coleen appeared in I’m A Celebrity at the end of last year and has recently spoken about her experience in the jungle.

Se recently revealed that conversations about sex nearly made her quit the show as she felt it ‘wasn’t for her’.

‘There were certain conversations going on, and my Dad told me not to swear when I went in there, but they were all talking about sex and everything else and I was thinking, “I can’t do this, I need to go and walk away,” and you just think, this isn’t me.

‘But as it went on and I got to know them as individuals, it got better,’ she said on The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast.

Coleen ended up placing as runner-up in the series and concluded that she was happy she took part in the show.

‘Going on I’m A Celebrity was to challenge myself. I’ve been asked year after year, and I’ve always said no because the kids were too young, and I had other stuff going on in life.

‘It’s the one show that I’ve always said if I were to do any show, it would be that because I’ve watched it for years and loved it. So, I thought why not? And I’m glad I did.’
