Christine McGuinness has opened up about her love life following her split from Paddy McGuinness, revealing she’d ‘love to have a wife one day’ as she embraces dating women.

Speaking very openly on the podcast It Started With A Kiss, the 38-year-old mother-of-three described herself as a ‘five-star lesbian’ while discussing her sexuality, relationships, and life after divorce.

Christine explained that while she isn’t focused on traditional marriage, she would welcome a symbolic commitment in the future.

‘I would love to have a wife one day,’ she said, adding that for her it would be more about ‘a blessing, a celebration of love’ than anything legal.

Three years on from her split from Paddy, with whom she shares three children, Christine said she has carved out a lifestyle that works for her, even if it doesn’t always align with her partners’ expectations.

‘I love a double life,’ she admitted, explaining how she keeps her family life separate from her dating life in London.

‘My family, my kids, my home is up there and then I come to London… I can work, have fun… and I don’t need to worry about everything.’

However, she acknowledged that this approach can create tension in relationships, particularly when things begin to deepen.

‘Eventually it gets to the point where… my woman’s going, “When am I going to meet the kids?”’ she said, adding that she’s always upfront about her boundaries.

In a previous interview, the TV star, who still lives with her former husband,  insisted she has no plans to walk down the aisle again.

She told the Daily Mail: ‘I don’t mean I’m traumatised by marriage; I was just so young then. I didn’t understand how you’re legally tied to someone if you’re married.

‘I want to be in a committed relationship, but I want the freedom to walk away.’

One thing Christine has remained consistent on is not wanting more children, something she said in her recent interview that she makes clear early on when dating during this new era in her life.

‘A lot of the women that I meet usually don’t have children and they want children, whereas I’ve had them,’ she explained.

‘So that’s something that I try and be honest about at the beginning to anybody that I’m even talking to.’

Elsewhere in the interview, Christine spoke openly about her experiences navigating intimacy and self-discovery after her marriage, including exploring new dynamics in relationships with women as a neurodivergent person.

She also discussed her interest in Shibari — an ancient Japanese art form and contemporary practice using rope to create intricate, aesthetic bindings on the body — describing it as less about sex and more about vulnerability and trust.

‘It was more about the feeling of letting go… allowing yourself to be vulnerable,’ she said, adding that the experience helped her better understand her own preferences.

Christine — who was diagnosed with autism in 2021 — also reflected on how being neurodivergent shapes her experience of dating. She described it as ‘overwhelming’ at times, particularly when navigating uncertainty and emotional intensity.

Despite the challenges, she said she is enjoying this chapter of her life. After spending 15 years in marriage, she now finds herself exploring relationships in a new way.

‘I love being intimate, I love passion… I’m very open-minded,’ she said. ‘Now I can do whatever I want… it’s trying to figure out who’s as open as you are. That’s been a journey — but it’s been really fun.’

She also explained her pre-date rituals, saying: ‘pre-date masturbate if you don’t want to… (laughs). If you want to keep yourself under control is like a number one rule.

‘I’m not judging, but if you want to like a lady and not be too quick with it, now listen, if you want that and that’s what you’re there for, you go for it.

‘But that would be prep number one. And then I think it’s really good to sort of set the room. I like to set the room.’
