Paris Jackson Gets Candid About Her Path to Sobriety

Paris Jackson

For the first time, Paris Jackson, Michael Jackson’s only daughter and performer in her own right, addressed her past history of drug use head-on. In a brave admission via TikTok on Nov 10, she revealed she has a perforated septum from engaging in past drug use, which she “doesn’t recommend because it ruined my life.” As for whether or not she would ever get plastic surgery to repair the hole, the star said no as she’d want to avoid the prescribed painkillers because she’s six years sober.

On a lighter note, Paris joked that she can actually stick a spaghetti noodle through the opening, and with a sense of humor, even showcased the accompanying loud whistle when breathing through her nose.

The frank TikTok clip came just one month after she spoke about her sobriety journey at the 35th annual Friendly House Awards Luncheon on Oct 11 in L.A. Friendly House is a residential and outpatient addiction treatment center for women in Los Angeles, which was founded by Bea Jorgensen in 1951.

At the luncheon, Paris remarked, “I feel like getting sober was kind of like getting into a car accident because everything I shoved in the back seat moved forward on impact and today I’m learning to navigate life on life’s terms.”

Paris is an unabashed triple threat – model, actor, and singer – and she showed off her musical talents at a concert at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco on Monday night, opening for Queens of the Stone Age. The alt-folk singer-songstress gave a soulful, stripped-down performance that effortlessly captivated the crowd. Most of the tracks will appear on her forthcoming album produced with legendary talent, Linda Perry.

During her performance at Davies, she bantered lightly during her eight-song set, playing tracks such as “Gaslight” and “Zombies in Love.” She told the audience that she draws inspiration from being “just a girl” and that many of her songs “are about boys or drugs – sometimes they’re about both.” Further baring her soul, Paris even briefly touched on the end of her engagement to music producer, Justin Long, after nearly three years together. With that kind of candor and confidence, Paris is ready to turn every heartbreak, hard truth, and setback into fuel for what’s next.
