Christopher Brosnan, who was adopted and later disowned by Hollywood star Pierce Brosnan, was spotted out and about in Notting Hill.

James Bond icon Pierce, 71, adopted Christopher, 51, and his older sister Charlotte in 1986 while married to his late wife Cassandra after the death of their father Dermot Harris.

Cassandra died from ovarian cancer in 1991, when Christopher was only 19. Charlotte succumbed to the same disease aged 34, in 2013. He also has one half-brother Sean, 40, and two stepbrothers Dylan, 27, and Paris, 23.

Christopher – who now lives in London where he was born – has had a tumultuous relationship with the public spotlight and his adopted father over the years.

The creative was recently spotted walking around Notting Hill in a green gilet, red hoodie, blue trousers and holding a Waitrose bag.

He was also sporting a backwards cap which partially covered his grown-out brown hair.

He worked on the production side of several of the Irish actor’s Bond films such asTomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and The Thomas Crown Affair where he is accredited as an assistant director on IMDb.

In 2005, Pierce told Playboy magazine that he had ‘cut’ his son off after a history of substance abuse.

‘Christopher is still very lost. Shockingly so,’ he said at the time.

‘I know where he is, but he’s having a hard life. I can only have strong faith and believe he will recover. He has tested everybody in this family but none more so than himself. He knows how to get out. He doesn’t want to.’

The Mamma Mia star added: ‘You never completely cut them off, but I have cut Christopher off. I had to say, “Go. Get busy living, or get busy dying.”‘

He then said he just wanted him ‘well and healthy’.

Christopher has had several brushes with the law due to his well-documented drug addiction and once feel into a coma due to an overdose. He also joined the second season of Celebrity Love Island in 2006.

The father-and-son have rarely been seen together in the past two decades.

After a brief reality career, Christopher has receded from the spotlight and keeps his life largely private from the press.

The last Pierce publicly addressed his son was in a heartfelt 2022 Instagram post with his three sons.

‘My love forever to you dear sons, Paris, Dylan, Sean and Christopher, thank you deeply for your love [heart emoji] on this Father’s Day,’ he wrote in the caption.

Pierce married Keely Shaye Smith in 2001.

Following Charlotte’s death in 2013, he attended a Stand Up to Cancer fundraiser where he said: ‘To watch someone you love have his or her life eaten away bit by bit by this insidious diease, that part of your sorrow becomes an indelible part of your psyche.

‘I held the generous, strong, beautiful hand of my first wife Cassie as ovarian cancer took her life much too soon.

‘Just last year, I held the hand of my funny, wonderful daughter Charlotte before she, too, died from this wretched inherited disease.’
