Pirates of the Caribbean and Leatherface actor Bob Elmore dies aged 65

Pirates of the Caribbean actor Bob Elmore has died at the age of 65.

The stuntman and actor, who also appeared uncredited as Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, had his death announced publicly by co-star Caroline Williams.

Posting on Instagram this week, she wrote: ‘My dear Bob Elmore has passed…’

Williams later followed up with a photo of her and Elmore together at fan event Crypticon Minnesota.

Elmore played the Executioner in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End after appearing as a stunt performer in the original, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003.

His extensive Hollywood resume also included playing Bodyguard #1 in The Usual Suspects, as well as his stunt work in the likes of Uncle Buck, Casino, City of Angels and Bring John Malkovich.

Horror Realm Convention also paid tribute to the performer, writing on Facebook: ‘Awful news coming out that Bob Elmore has passed away. We were fortunate to have him as a guest at Horror Realm a few years back.’

The statement continued: ‘He was actually booked for 2026 but we have not announced any guests yet. We are sorry we won’t have a chance to be with him one more time. Our condolences to Bob’s family.’

Home of Horror, a Texas-based horror fan hub posted to its 111,000 page followers: ‘We’re saddened to learn that Bob Elmore has passed away.
