In 2025, Kris Jenner’s facelift took center stage, and she was open and honest about the procedure, noting that it’s her version of “aging gracefully” at 70. As 2025 ends and 2026 begins, certified plastic surgeons wrote to Showbiz Cheat Sheet about their plastic surgery predictions for the new year. Here’s what they explained about famous folks fueling interest in anti-aging procedures and what facial rejuvenation trends they expect to see dominate in the future.

Are celebrities driving the surge in facelifts over the past few years, and will the surge continue into 2026? <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/andrewcohenmd/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Andrew T. Cohen, MD, FACS, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Encino, California, says social media marketing plays a huge part.

“There’s a lot of interest, as well as celebrities doing facelifts and being honest about it,” Dr. Cohen wrote to Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “We’re in an age where people and celebrities are being honest, some of them are being open about their cosmetic work, which I think is a nice thing. Faces have always been in fashion, but now with social media and celebrities coming forward, we’re seeing a rise in these procedures.”

Dr. Cohen noted that weight-loss drugs are also driving face and neck lifts. Patients are coming in after “massive weight loss” to have a procedure done on their face or neck.

<a href=”https://www.drpaulafrooz.com/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Dr. Paul N. Afrooz, MD, an award-winning plastic surgeon, also weighed in. He noted that the public has a greater understanding that a modern facelift is for “restoring natural structure, not creating an artificial look.”

<a href=”https://drsanan.com/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Dr. Akshay Sanan, MD, FACS, a double board-certified cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgeon, said people are realizing that a facelift offers a “durable, natural, long-term solution” that injectables do not. “Increased visibility from high-definition cameras and social media has only accelerated that awareness,” Dr. Sanan added.

What facial rejuvenation trends will dominate in 2026?

Facial rejuvenation treatments and facelifts aren’t going away anytime soon. So, what trends will dominate in the new year?

Dr. Cohen believes deep plane facelifts and the high SMAS (Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System) facelift will become the most asked-for treatments. He also mentioned that fat grafting and laser resurfacing will stay popular.

As for Dr. Afrooz, he says “natural, anatomy-based rejuvenation” will dominate. “Deep plane facelifts, neck rejuvenation, and subtle brow and eyelid refinements will continue to dominate because they address aging at its source,” he wrote

Dr. Sanan wrote to Showbiz Cheat Sheet that “comprehensive facial rejuvenation will dominate, not single procedures.” He’s noticed that patients are creating harmony across their face by combining facelifts and neck lifts with eye, brow, or lip lifts.

Dr. Sanan noted that a proper facelift should be “invisible” and look natural by restoring the “natural facial architecture.” Additionally, fillers can’t replace a lift. Too much filler can add heaviness to the face. Additionally, Dr. Cohen noted that those wanting a facelift should head to “a real surgeon with real experience,” not a dermatologist. All three plastic surgeons noted that they’ve also noticed how patients are coming in younger — often their 40s and 50s — for facelifts.

Are celebrities contributing to the rise in facelifts?

With celebrities sharing more about their plastic surgeries with fans online, is this openness contributing to more facelifts for regular folks? The plastic surgeons say yes.

“Absolutely,” Dr. Afrooz wrote to Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “What’s influential now is not overt transformation, but the absence of obvious work. When public figures look consistently refreshed without dramatic change, it raises curiosity and shifts perception. This has helped normalize surgical rejuvenation as something refined and intentional rather than extreme.”

Dr. Sanan added that people respond to the “aesthetic standard” that celebrities set, which was evident with Kris Jenner’s facelift in 2025. “They’ve helped normalize surgical rejuvenation and reduce stigma, but they’ve also raised expectations,” he explained. “My role is to guide patients toward individualized, meaningful, and timeless results rather than chasing trends.”
