Howdy partner! Get on your boots, saddle up the horses and polish your six-shooter because one of the best games ever made is coming to PS Plus.
Yes, that’s right, the critically acclaimed and fan favourite cowboy simulator Red Dead Redemption is being added to the PlayStation Plus Extra tier on December 2.
Set in 1911, in the dying days of the Wild West, Red Dead puts the player in control of former outlaw John Marston, who the US government press-gangs into bringing three members of his old gang to justice.
As he hunts his former friends, the player is free to explore a vast open world full of colourful characters, amazing missions, and beautiful landscapes.
What’s more, you have complete control of John, allowing you to roleplay as a just lawman or a bloodthirsty bandit.
To call Red Dead a massive hit would be an understatement. The game is one of the highest-rated ever made and regularly appears on lists of the best video games.

On release, IGN called it a ‘must-play’ and ‘one of the deepest, most fun, and most gorgeous games around’ while Eurogamer branded it ‘a blockbuster video game’.
The game scored an eye-watering 95/100 on MetaCritic, and the lowest rating we could find was an impressive 8/10.
It’s not just professional critics who love this game. On IMDb (who knew they reviewed games?) wwe7961 gave Red Dead 10/10 and called it ‘revolutionary’.
‘It has the best open world graphics I have ever seen,’ they continued.
‘Just sitting back and taking in what’s around you is just an amazing experience. The writing, like all Rockstar games, is some of the best writing you’ll find in a video game.’

gsic_batou meanwhile called it ‘A game I’ve been waiting my whole life for’.
To make things more exciting, as well, PS Plus subscribers aren’t just getting the base version of the game.
According to GameRant, it’s the updated version of the game, which boasts improved graphics and reduced glitches. Best of all, it comes with the expansion Undead Nightmare.
What’s Undead Nightmare, you ask? Well, it basically adds zombies to the game.
That’s actually not fair. This isn’t some lazy add-on that drops undead ghouls into the Wild West.
No, it adds an entire new campaign to the game that sees John set out to find the cause of a zombie plague in the hopes of curing his infected wife and son.
Red Dead Redemption will be added to the PlayStation Plus Extra tier on December 2.
