Without an NFL team and currently standing trial for assault and strangulation, his life certainly isn’t what he expected it to be a year ago. Fans are flummoxed, too. Just when we thought things couldn’t get more complicated, they did. Diggs’ former personal chef and the alleged victim of the assault just threw a major plot twist into the story. Jamila Adams now claims she and Stefon Diggs were <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/entire-nfl-team-didnt-want-ladies-life-dating-stefon-diggs.html/”>in a sexual relationship</a> before she started working for him.</p>

<p id=”par-2_58″>A whirlwind 2025 and a winning NFL season had Stefon Diggs in a great mood, until December. In December, just days before the year ended, news reports of an alleged assault surfaced. According to <a href=”https://www.tmz.com/2025/12/30/stefon-diggs-chef-choke-slap-allegations/”>TMZ</a>, Jamila Adams, a private chef, walked into a police station in mid-December to report that Diggs had assaulted her about two weeks earlier.</p>

<p id=”par-3_75″>According to Adams, her boss walked into her bedroom at his home and assaulted her after they had spent part of the day arguing via text over money. Adams claims that Diggs slapped her and choked her before tossing her on the bed and leaving the room. She moved out and reported the incident days later. She did not document her injuries. At the time, she had been working for Diggs for about five months.</p>
<p id=”par-4_53″>Diggs appeared in court after Adams reported the incident and was arraigned. The New England Patriots <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/new-england-patriots-say-stand-stefon-diggs-assault-charges.html/”>initially stood by Diggs</a>, keeping him on the roster and allowing him to play through the remainder of the season. He was released by the team in March 2026. He has yet to find a new team.</p>

<p id=”par-5_80″>What initially appeared to be a business dispute turned physical is a bit more complicated than that, claims the alleged victim. During the first day of Diggs’ trial, the alleged victim, Jamila Adams, revealed that her connection to Diggs was, at one time, romantic. She said that she had met Diggs several years earlier on social media, where they struck up a friendship. From there, she claims the relationship turned sexual before he ultimately hired her as a private chef.</p>
<p id=”par-6_54″>To cook for the former New England Patriots receiver, Adams reportedly earned $2,000 per week. She also lived in Diggs’ home in Dedham, Massachusetts. It is unclear whether Adams and Diggs maintained that sexual relationship while she worked for him, or whether they had ended that part of their relationship before her tenure began.</p>
<p id=”par-7_52″>We suspect Cardi B, who <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/cardi-bs-defense-stefon-diggs-leaves-fans-grossed.html/”>defended her then-partner Diggs</a> when the allegations surfaced, might be interested in the answer to that, too. Diggs and Cardi B split back in February, but have sparked reconciliation rumors in recent weeks. We suspect Adams’ recent admissions might end any rekindling that was in the works.</p>
