Authorities have officially released the bodycam footage from Tiger Woods’ car accident, showing the 3x U.S. Open champion kneeling in front of officers as they searched his belongings, TMZ reported.

Woods, 50, who crashed his vehicle on March 27 in Jupiter Island, Florida, appeared calm as he explained to police what happened. “I looked down at my phone and all of a sudden, boom,” he told the responding officer as they put on a pair of black gloves to go through Woods’ bags.

The officer went on to ask Woods if he felt “comfortable” as he knelt on the ground, prompting him to respond in a high-pitched voice, “Yeah, yeah!”

The officer then told the 5X Masters champion that he would send over the medics to assess him. As the officer walked away, his bodycam captured the other vehicle involved in the crash.

The video showed Woods’ Range Rover SUV flipped on its side after clipping a trailer that was attached to the back of a truck. According to ESPN, the truck slowed down to turn into a driveway when Woods swerved to avoid bumping into the back of the vehicle. The golfer then climbed out of his passenger-side window to free himself.

Woods was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI with property damage and refusal to submit a lawful urinalysis, TMZ reported. In the arrest affidavit from Martin County Sheriff deputy Tatiana Levenar, she cited that during their interview, Woods was “sweating profusely” and his body movements were “lethargic and slow.”

Deputy Levenar noted that when Woods removed his sunglasses, his eyes were “bloodshot and glassy” and his pupils were “extremely dilated,” ESPN reported. When asked if he had consumed alcohol, the 4x PGA champion responded, “None.”

Tiger Woods Says He Is Seeking Treatment After DUI

He did, however, admit to taking prescription medication that morning, noting that he takes “a few.”

Woods released a statement on X several days after his DUI arrest, taking accountability as he explained that he would be stepping out of the public eye for the time being to focus on treatment.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” Woods said. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”

“I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger and more focused place, both personally and professionally,” he continued. “I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
