<p id=”par-1_52″>When it comes to flying, there are perks and there are drawbacks for royals. There are some things they are banned from doing, and now a former airline attendant who served <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-william/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Prince William</a> and the Princess of Wales (<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/dont-be-fooled-this-is-what-kate-middleton-was-really-like-in-school.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>formerly known as Kate Middleton</a>) has <a href=”https://www.hellomagazine.com/royalty/918093/kate-middleton-prince-william-rule-flying-abroad/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>revealed a rule</a> that many didn’t know about.</p>
<p id=”par-2_65″>During <em>Made in Chelsea </em>star Olivia Bentley <em>Private Parts podcast</em> former British Airways cabin crew member and ex-reality TV star Helena Ford shared, “There is a thing in place where [William and Kate] can’t fly in the highest cabin, so if there’s a first class, they have to sit in business, and if there isn’t a first class, they have to sit in Traveler Plus.”</p>

<p id=”par-3_64″>Ford said that when the Waleses traveled on her flight, they were seated in business class and the remaining business class seats were occupied by members of their security team, explaining, “When we had Will and Kate, it was in business because we had a first, but the whole of business was security, but they were dressed as normal people, so you wouldn’t know.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_16″>Another flight attendant previously recalled some royal behavior on a flight with other regal flyers. </p>
<p id=”par-5_26″>That steward remembered serving <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/biggest-reason-prince-harry-meghans-american-dream-failed-moment-duke-realized-uk-could-work.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Prince Harry and Meghan Markle</a> on their flight from London to Tromso, Norway, in 2017 when they were still working royals. </p>
<p id=”par-6_62″>She told <a href=”https://www.express.co.uk/travel/articles/1473379/meghan-markle-flight-bill-travel-flight-attendant”>Express</a>, “At the beginning of the flight, they looked at the menu, and I could see they were discussing what to order. When we went through with the service trolley, they stopped me and asked me for a drink and snack. Harry had a breakfast tea and shortbread, and Meghan had tea as well, but she chose a lemon muffin.”</p>

<p id=”par-7_27″>The attendant explained that the couple did not pay their tab when it was time to do so, and she wasn’t sure how to handle that. </p>
<p id=”par-8_63″>“I didn’t know what to do, as they didn’t ask for the bill and it seemed like they assumed that was for free. I was too embarrassed to ask so I just left,” she admitted. “I panicked so I just kept going and decided not to ask for the payment, although they had requested to be treated like regular passengers before the flight.</p>
<p id=”par-9_57″>“By the end of the flight, though, their bodyguard, who was traveling with them, came to me and asked for the bill. I was so relieved but at the same time so confused. The bodyguard explained to me that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex never carry any money and he’s in charge of paying for everything.”</p>
