<p id=”par-1_41″>Prince George will start his schooling at Eton College on September 8. For <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-william/?swcfpc=1″>Prince William</a> and Kate Middleton, this marks a major milestone as their eldest son prepares to start boarding school. Meanwhile, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-harry/”>Prince Harry</a> and Meghan Markle have returned to Britain.</p>
<p id=”par-2_34″>But they aren’t cutting ties with California. The couple plans to split their time between both sides of the Atlantic. Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said William and Middleton are already facing an emotional goodbye. </p>

<p id=”par-3_50″>“I have tremendous sympathy for the Prince and Princess of Wales,” Schofield told<em> Fox News Digital.</em> “Prince George is expected to start at Eton on September 8, which means this was their last Scottish summer holiday together before their teenage son leaves home for his first term at boarding school.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_54″>She added, “That is a huge emotional milestone for any family, and instead of being able to quietly enjoy that time together, Harry and Meghan have brought the circus back to town.” George will follow his father’s path by attending Eton. For Schofield, though, the bigger question is what the Sussexes might do next. </p>
<p id=”par-5_54″>She noted that William and Middleton will have to “navigate the Sussexes’ return and all of the uncertainty surrounding it.” Schofield said that George deserved to start school without fresh family drama hanging over him. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams also said that “the royal family is under pressure” due to Harry and Markle’s return. </p>
<p id=”par-6_39″>He questioned whether their return means a full commitment to Britain. “They reportedly see themselves as ‘international citizens.’ They claim that their balance of business activities and trips abroad over the last six years is a success,” Fitzwilliams added. </p>
<p id=”par-7_69″>Still, reports suggest that Harry and Markle may keep a low profile during <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/prince-george-eton-footsteps-celebs.html/”>George’s first days at Eton</a>. Royal broadcaster Neil Sean previously told the outlet, “The Sussexes have assured the king that they will not hijack or derail major royal events, notably the first day of school term for Prince George at Eton. By that, no pictures or comment from either one on that day in September.” </p>
<p id=”par-8_48″>Amanda Matta said that George’s first day at Eton is “the beginning of his public-facing path as heir to the throne.” Matta said it would “certainly be a shame for his first days at Eton to see him embroiled in a ‘feud’ narrative with his uncle and aunt.” </p>
<p id=”par-9_31″>Schofield also said that the Sussexes may keep the “best of both worlds.” It comes with “access to monarchy” and “maintaining the freedom and commercial opportunities” they have outside the U.K. </p>
<p id=”par-10_42″>Meanwhile, Harry and Markle have reportedly enrolled their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, at an exclusive British prep school. <em>Page Six</em> reported that the school costs more than $35,000 a year. However, the school’s name is still withheld for privacy reasons. </p>

<p id=”par-12_28″>Harry and Markle first returned to Britain with their children during the summer of 2026. It marked the kids’ first trip to Britain in more than four years. </p>
