Sony is offering its best ever discount for the PlayStation 5, in its upcoming Black Friday sale, and all just in time for Christmas.

Last week, a reliable rumour claimed that all models of the PlayStation 5 would see a major price cut across Europe, as part of this year’s Black Friday sales.

Sony has now officially confirmed this will be the case and that its Black Friday discounts will apply to select games and other PlayStation hardware in the UK.

The PlayStation 5 console is unquestionably expensive, especially after two price hikes, but with the digital edition of the console seeing a massive price cut of £135 this is one sale that is worth taking advantage of.

How much is the PS5 console on Black Friday 2025?

The digital edition of PlayStation 5 will cost £294.99, which is even less than the original £359.99 price tag from when the console launched in 2020.

The standard version of the console will be £90 off, much like previous temporary discounts, but that still makes it £389.99, which is far more enticing than the usual £479.99 price tag.

Although it will remain the most expensive of the three models, the PS5 Pro will see a £90 price cut as well, bringing it down to £609.99

Another detail from the aforementioned leak was a couple of new Fortnite related console bundles, which Sony has also corroborated. Dubbed the Fortnite Flowering Chaos Bundle, there will be bundles for the digital and standard versions of the console.

They come with some exclusive in-game items and virtual currency for Fortnite, but they’ll cost exactly the same as the consoles on their own: £389.99 for the standard bundle and £294.99 for the digital bundle.

As for what games will see price cuts, Sony has already named God Of War Ragnarök, Astro Bot, and Death Stranding 2 as examples, but it’s not shared exactly how cheaper they’ll be and the final list is bound to be much, much longer.

Lastly, Sony is running discounts on controllers, earbuds, PlayStation VR2 headsets, and the PlayStation Portal remote player. Here’s a quick summation of their price cuts:

These offers will go live on the PlayStation Direct website and PlayStation 5 store from Friday, November 21, but Sony hasn’t yet stated when these discounts will expire.
