What is that ?! (Sony Interactive Entertainment)
Sony themselves have managed to confirm what the PS5 Pro looks like, with an official announcement expected within days.
The PS5 Pro has been leaked and rumoured for years now, with no one ever really doubting it’s real but Sony never having confirmed its existence – even though it’s expected to be released this autumn.
Many different sources have reported information about it but most recently the ever-reliable billbil-kun revealed what it looked like. But because they didn’t want to get sued by Sony they drew a picture of it, rather than taking a photo.
It was basically a PS5 Slim with three lines across the middle and now exactly that has appeared in an official 30th anniversary image, released by Sony themselves.
The PlayStation brand will be 30 years old on December 3 and while it’s been a rough couple of years (and weeks thanks to Concord) Sony is planning to celebrate with free multiplayer weekends, an esports tournament, the release of various digital soundtracks, a board game, some stress balls, and a set of PlayStation-themed magnets.
As thrilling as all that sounds the most interesting detail is that the 30th anniversary graphic released alongside these announcements seems to have a picture of the PS5 Pro in it.

The background logo is made up of silhouettes of various PlayStation devices, from throughout the last three decades, but the one right in the middle seems to be a brand new console that has never previously been released.
More importantly, with the three lines across it, it looks exactly like the design billbil-kun drew, which given its prominence in the image seems pretty conclusive.
At the same time, leaker Lunatic Ignus claims that Sony will have a ‘big announcement’ next week, likely Tuesday or Wednesday, with a full State of Play presentation the week after on September 19 or 20.
They’re not the most reliable leaker, so we wouldn’t bet on that, but they also claim that there will be new ‘first party content shown’ and a ‘word premiere’ at the State of Play. They don’t specify whether the premiere is first or third party but the first party content could be something as low-key as the Until Dawn remake.
You don’t need a leaker to tell you that the PS5 Pro is imminent though and even if those dates are wrong it’s clear that the new console is going to be unveiled within the next few weeks.
Technical details of the new console have been leaked multiple times before but the one thing that there’s never been any concrete information on is the price, although it is almost certainly going to be more than the standard PlayStation 5.
