Reese Witherspoon‘s daughter, Ava Phillippe, has just revealed a skill that she’s attempting to improve. And while her mother happens to be a movie star, Phillippe’s talent has nothing to do with acting or anything else to do with the entertainment industry.
Ava Is Trying Her Hand at Drawing
Phillippe took to Instagram on Friday, April 10, to share a photo of what she’s been up to. In the image, you can see a drawing of a piece of fruit with a nice highlight, lovely shading and dual shadows. In the caption, she wrote, “[P]eace is a charcoal apple ð #adultartclass”
Her followers were pretty impressed with her effort, with one person writing, “You definitely have talent with charcoal. ð”
“So good! Keep creating,” another person added.
A third fan of her art wrote, “Love this ð, creativity is so therapeutic, whether it is you doing it or appreciating someone else’s!”
Phillippe, “who attended UC Berkeley, has already launched a successful modeling career, working with major brands like Ivy Park and Pat McGrath Labs, and she made her acting debut on ABC’s Doctor Odyssey in April 2025,” according to People.
When it comes to her various endeavors, she explained to E! News’ Daily Pop, “My parents have always encouraged me to choose the path that’s right for me and, you know, guide me along the way to make better choices than I might make.”
“I’m so grateful for that,” she continued. “That is such a privilege to have parents that support you in that way and to want you to be who you truly are meant to be. So I think I’m trying to do that.”
Plenty of Moviestars, Music Stars & Models Are Also Artists
Phillippe is far from the only person with a connection to the entertainment industry to dabble in both performing and art. “For some public figures, taking a break from the spotlight … means turning to a canvas, a potter’s wheel or whatever helps them create with complete freedom,” People points out.
“From Academy Award-winning actors like Adrien Brody and legendary musicians like Paul McCartney …, many well-known names have explored painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics and more,” per People.
That’s not to mention other famous figures who love to create art like Miley Cyrus, Seth Rogen, Gigi Hadid, Jim Carrey, Heidi Klum, Halsey, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp. Also on this particularly creative list is Lucy Liu, Christie Brinkley, Jemima Kirke, Candice Bergen, John Mellencamp and Jane Seymour.
Beyond that, other celebrities who considered themselves artists include folk icon Bob Dylan, KISS alum Gene Simmons, “Rocky” star Sylvester Stallone and former James Bond Pierce Brosnan.
