<p id=”par-2_39″>Gay opened up about her approach to appearance-enhancing procedures to <a href=”https://www.bustle.com/beauty/heather-gay-plastic-surgery-weight-loss-spending-real-housewives-of-salt-lake-city” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Bustle</a>. She explained that in Utah, it’s a “Venn diagram of judginess and the pursuit of perfection” and that “everybody’s doing whatever they can to look their very best.”</p>
<p id=”par-3_70″>The Bravo personality, who co-owns the med spa Beauty Lab + Laser, sees maintaining her looks as part of her job. To look her best on TV, she has a regimen of Botox, laser hair removal, and fillers. But because she owns a business that provides those services, she doesn’t have to pay out of pocket. If she did, her bill could be tens of thousands of dollars a year. </p>
<p id=”par-4_63″>Gay also struck a deal with a plastic surgeon to get her two nose jobs for free. However, she did pay between $18,000 and $20,000 for a tummy tuck and another $8,000 to $10,000 for a breast augmentation. Prescription weight loss drugs are also part of her routine. She says she pays $500 per month for Mounjaro. Veneers for her teeth were $30,000. </p>
<p id=”par-5_23″>“Counting all of the things I’ve had done, I’m probably $200,000 into my physical appearance. And it was worth every penny,” she said. </p>
<p id=”par-6_31″>At the same time, Gay acknowledged that <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/the-real-housewives-ultimate-girls-trip-set-to-return-with-a-refresh.html/”>shows like <em>The Real Housewives</em></a><em> </em>play a role in establishing a standard of beauty for women — one that it nearly impossible to meet. </p>
<p id=”par-7_87″>“I think there should be no shame in people wanting to change the way they look. But I also see that the standard of beauty has become more and more artificial for women,” she said. “Being on TV, it’s really, <em>really</em> hard to see yourself constantly and to be amongst women who are physically flawless in every way. Everyone has perfect teeth, lashes, and hair. It’s what I call the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/rhony-alum-bethenny-frankel-admits-cosmetic-surgery-her-not-natural-face.html/”>required uniform of a Housewife</a>, and as you become more of a Housewife, it becomes more entrenched.”</p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-some-bravo-housewives-have-plastic-surgery-regrets”>Some Bravo Housewives have plastic surgery regrets </h2>
<p id=”par-8_57″>Some of Gay’s fellow Bravo stars have expressed regret about their decision to go under the knife. Alexis Bellino from <em>The Real Housewives of Orange County </em>said she wished she had not gotten a boob job at a young age. According to <a href=”https://www.bravotv.com/the-daily-dish/alexis-bellino-plastic-surgery-regrets-after-breast-augmentations” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Bravo’s Daily Dish</a>, she eventually had multiple surgeries to correct various issues with her implants. </p>
<p id=”par-9_35″>Tamra Judge from <em>RHOC </em>also wasn’t happy with her breast implants. She had them removed because she believed they were causing health issues. However, a few years later, she had another breast augmentation (via <a href=”https://people.com/tamra-judge-details-latest-breast-augmentation-after-vow-against-implants-11814811″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a>). </p>
<p id=”par-10_49″><em>The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills </em>alum <a href=”https://www.eonline.com/news/1399352/lisa-rinna-reveals-she-dissolved-her-facial-fillers-amid-reaction-to-her-appearance” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Lisa Rinna dissolved her facial fillers</a> after she decided she wasn’t happy with the way they made her look. Sonja Morgan from <em>The Real Housewives of New York City </em>admitted to <a href=”https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-body/news/rhonys-sonja-morgan-says-no-more-liposuction-embraces-curves/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Us Weekly</a> that she “went too far” when she got liposuction. </p>
