Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, tragically passed away in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14, and more information continues to come out regarding their death.
PEOPLE initially reported that the couple was killed by their son, Nick. The outlet then added that Rob and Michele’s bodies were discovered by their daughter, Romy.
Rob and Michele share three kids, with the actor also having adopted daughter Tracy during his first marriage to Penny Marshall.
Romy Reiner Posted Often on Social Media With Her Father
Rob Reiner was often featured on Romy’s Instagram page, sharing funny videos of the two.
In one, she is seen giving her father a haircut, with the caption, “Since the nepo thing isnât working out, Iâm asking my dad for some help in another arena⦠what do you think?”
She also proved to be one of Rob’s top fans, posting a photo and encouraging fans to go see her father’s movie.
“GO SEE SPINAL TAP II THE END CONTINUES IN THEATERS TOMORROW SEPTEMBER 12,” she posted in September.

Reiner met his wife, photographer Michele Singer, while directing “When Harry Met Sally,” which actually led to Reiner change the ending of the movie.
In an interview on “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace,” Reiner explained that the ending was going to be much sadder.
“I’d been married for 10 years,” he explained. “I’d been single for 10 years, and I couldn’t figure out how I was ever going to be with anybody. That gave birth to ‘When Harry Met Sally.’ I hadn’t met anybody, so it was going to be the two of them seeing each other after years, talking, and then walking away from each other.”
But, his future wife changed everything.
“I met her while we were making the film, and I changed the ending,” he added.
The two got married in 1989, which was the same year the movie was released, and share three children together.
They also founded the âI Am Your Child Foundationâ in 1997, along with the âParentsâ Action for Children,â or âThe Reiner Foundationâ in 2004. With this, they aimed to âraise public awareness regarding the importance of early childhood development, and to provide families and caregivers of young children with the information and resources to promote healthy development and school readiness (per GuideStar).
