The royal family is expanding once again.

Princess Eugenie, the daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, is pregnant with her third child. The news was shared on social media.

Princess Eugenie is Due This Summer

In an Instagram post dated May 4, Princess Eugenie shared the happy news that she was expecting her third child with her husband of seven years, Jack Brooksbank. The couple is parents to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, 5, and Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, 2.

Eugenie wrote, “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!” A series of red emoji hearts followed the announcement.

Additionally, the princess shared a photo of her sons with their faces shielded. Together, the brothers held a sonogram picture of their sibling.

Additionally, the royal family also shared the happy news on their official social media page. They captioned the same photo used by Eugenie, “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer.”

“August (aged 5) and Ernest (aged 2) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family. His Majesty The King [Charles] has been informed and is delighted with the news,” the statement concluded.

Eugenie and Jack married at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor in October, 2018. Their wedding was a relatively low-key affair, held just five months apart in the same location as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials.

Royal Watchers Shared Their Comments About the Happy News

Royal watchers quickly shared their delight at the news, flooding social media with congratulations and well-wishes. Many praised the happy announcement as a joyful moment for the royal family.

“Congratulations to Eugenie and Jack! I’m so happy for them,” wrote one Instagram follower in the comments section of the princess’s post.

“Omg, yay, how exciting! Congratulations, Jack and Eugenie, on this very exciting news!!! Auggie and Ernest will be the most amazing, sweetest, kindest, loving, incredible, and wonderful big brothers ever to this wee baby. We all can’t wait till you’re here, Baby Brooksbank 3!!!” exclaimed a second royal watcher.

A third social media user penned, “CONGRATULATIONS! Thoroughly cheered me up today! Let’s hope it’s a girl to balance out the team!”

A fourth follower concluded, “Wonderful news! Congratulations to you all!”

According to The Daily Record, the baby will be 15th in line to the British throne. However, they will not have a HRH (his or her royal highness) title.

Town & Country reported that Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice’s children, don’t have royal titles because “in the UK, titles are passed down from the father’s side of the family, and as Jack Brooksbank is a commoner, his and Eugenie’s children will be as well.”

The newest member of the House of Windsor is the fifth biological grandchild of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson. Eugenie’s sister, Beatrice, is a stepmother to husband Eduardo Mapelli Mozzi’s son, Christopher, 10. Additionally, the couple welcomed two daughters: Sienna Elizabeth, 5, and Athena Elizabeth Rose, 1.
