According to <a href=”https://www.the-sun.com/tv/16470329/teen-mom-ryan-edwards-tax-debt-mackenzie-amanda/”>the U.S. Sun</a>, the former flames owe nearly $300,000 in unpaid taxes. The unpaid bill, stemming from unfiled income tax returns from years earlier, first came to light during the former couple’s divorce proceedings. In a 2025 court filing, Ryan claimed Mackenzie failed to file their 2020 and 2021 taxes.</p>

<p id=”par-3_83″>At the time of their divorce, Ryan claimed he had no idea just how much money was owed in taxes, as he allegedly didn’t have access to 1099 forms for the years in question. The failed filing seemingly included earnings from <em>Teen Mom OG</em>. Ryan and Mackenzie, along with his parents, Jen and Larry Edwards, were paid by MTV to appear on the series in 2020 and 2021. All four were fired by MTV in March 2021, following a series of troubling events.</p>
<p id=”par-4_65″>Ryan and his parents eventually returned to the series after Ryan and Mackenzie separated and he completed a court-ordered rehab program. Mackenzie did not appear in the most recent iteration of the series, and it is unclear exactly what they were making in 2020 and 2021 for their appearance. Ryan did admit to earning $35,000 per episode during his most recent stint on the series.</p>
