<p id=”par-3_56″>“We’ve noticed searches for ‘modern nostalgia’ have surged 134% in the past month, reflecting consumers’ growing passion for the past, especially when it comes to beauty,” said Annabelle Taurua, a beauty expert at <a href=”https://www.fresha.com/lp/en/bt/beauty-salons” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Fresha</a>. “Sabrina Carpenter has firmly established herself with her 60s looks, blending glamour, ‘vintage sexy’, and pin-up aesthetics, and continues to influence trends.”</p>

<p id=”par-5_73″>“We’re noticing that former trends are gradually making a comeback: the bubble bath nail trend, brought to the fore by OPI when they launched the iconic ‘Bubble Bath’ shade in the early 2000s, is still going strong in 2026, with searches up 54% in the past year,” Taurua said. “Similarly, ‘shimmering makeup’, highly associated with Carpenter’s looks from her Coachella show, is making a comeback, with searches up 500% in the past month.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_24″>She noted that while these trends take inspiration from the past, they will undoubtedly have a modern flair that keeps them from looking dated.</p>

<p id=”par-7_25″>Carpenter said she wasn’t always as interested in fashion as she is now. She admitted her height made it hard to get invested in clothing.</p>
<p id=”par-8_23″>“I’m the shortest person ever,” she told Marc Jacobs for <a target=”_blank” href=”https://www.theperfectmagazine.com/features/sabrina-carpenter-interviewed-by-marc-jacobs” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Perfect Magazine</a>. “So my initial relationship with fashion was sort of in distress.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_21″>She said her outlook completely changed once she started tailoring her clothes. She began feeling more confident about her styling choices.</p>
<p id=”par-10_73″>“The day I realised what tailoring is changed my life,” she said. “In terms of what made me feel the most confident, it was an altered outfit, making it feel like it works really well on my body. I see it truly as art, as something that can make you feel so self-conscious or it can make you feel so incredibly confident that you’re not even aware of what is on your body.”</p>
<p id=”par-11_8″>These days, she said she loves dressing up.</p>

<p id=”par-12_19″>While this year was Carpenter’s first time headlining Coachella, she has performed at the music festival in the past. </p>
<p id=”par-13_83″>“I was playing sunset, around 5:30 pm on the main stage two years ago,” she said. “That was a really special day for me, the day my song ‘Espresso’ came out. I got to play that for the first time at Coachella. And now, two years later, we’re back. And I think that’s what makes this show feel really, really surreal: getting to celebrate all the songs that have come after it, and just how many lives they’ve lived since they’ve come out.”</p>

Most of the time, you’re really quickly thrust into physical rehearsals, but this time around we started this process around seven months ago. So it’s been a long journey.
