Sam Thompson has recalled how he was once humiliated by Liam Gallagher’s son Gene.

Rising to fame on Made in Chelsea, Sam went on to appear on a string of other reality shows including Celebrity Big Brother, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, Celebs Go Dating and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Although he’s become a beloved public figure for many, he’s spoken about being pied off by the son of the Oasis rock star when at smoking area of a club.

During the latest episode of his podcast Staying Relevant, Sam detailed the awkward expletive-filled run-in.

The 33-year-old began the story by explaining how the son looked like ‘the spitting image of his dad’.

‘So, I go to this sort of bar slash early club, and I’m in the smoking area and one of the Gallagher’s son was there,’ he told co-host Pete Wicks.

‘Honestly, just looks the spitting image of his dad and I thought it was him for a second.

‘And I go “sorry guys, can I borrow a lighter off someone” not to him, by the way, he’s like over there. And he turns around and goes “not for that f***ing p***k off the TV”.’

With Pete looking shocked, Sam then continued: ‘Mate, he’s like 18 in his, whatever, Oasis accent that he has and he was literally like “not that little f***ing p***k off the TV” and I’m stood next to this girl and I’ve just been boyed off, I had no idea what to say.’

Pete then laughed and quipped for Sam to not ‘look back in anger’.

Although he didn’t reveal which Oasis offspring took aim at him, Sam’s story was at first suspected to be about one of Liam’s sons – Gene, 24, or Lennon, 26.

However, when promoting the episode, the Staying Relevant podcast shared a clip and added an image of Lennon over Sam and Pete talking.

Born in 2001, Gene’s mum is All Saints singer Nicole Appleton. After eight years together, the Canadian singer and Oasis star married in 2008.

But they split five years later after his affair with journalist Liza Ghorbani, with whom he welcomed daughter Gemma in 2013, was publicly revealed.

Liam also shares son Lennon, 26, with actress Patsy Kensit. During their marriage he also had an affair and welcomed daughter Molly with singer Lisa Moorish.

Gene is also a musician, being part of the indie rock group Villanelle, who had their debut UK headline tour in October last year.

He previously told The Times: ‘The first time my dad came to see me he said: “Go on, let’s see what you’re made of because if you’re s*** you’re not playing”.’

In 2022 Gene was infamously hauled to court alongside Ringo Starr’s grandson Sonny Starkey after being accused of fighting in a Tesco Express store.

The pair – along with friend, model Noah Ponte – were charged with offences including affray and assault by beating, as well as racially aggravated assault.

But on the day their trial was due to start, prosecutors said evidence had come to light that Starkey was acting in self-defence and Gallagher was defending him.

After pleading not guilty, the pair promised to ‘keep the peace and be of good behaviour’ for a year or pay £500.

However, Judge Joanna Greenberg said their behaviour on the night was ‘completely out of order’ and they had been acting ‘entitled’.

A few years earlier Gene had been expelled from his high school – King Alfred School in Golders Green.
