
The entertainment industry has been mourning the loss of icon Diane Keaton. Keaton passed away on Sunday, October 11. She was 79. It has since been revealed that she died of bacterial pneumonia.Â

Berkley reflected on her experience working with Keaton at the premiere of âAll’s Fair.â âIt was a profound time,â she told People of working on the film alongside talented actresses like Keaton, Goldie Hawn, and Bette Midler. âTo be embraced by these three most extraordinary women at the top of their game, women I had looked up to.âÂ
She continued, âThey say never get too close to your heroes. Well, each of those women in their own right not only lived up to what I hoped they would be, they went beyond with their warmth, their generosity, their embrace of me and encouragement at a time where I really needed it in the industry.â
Berkley also praised Keaton and revealed what she learned from watching her work. She referred to the experience as a âgiftâ and praised the late âAnnie Hallâ actress for her approach to leadership, saying it was “what true leadership looks like.”
She continued, âThese women are extraordinary. They’re all in their own right, a force of nature. And so, to get to collaborate with that kind of power, the generosity on set was really beautiful.â

Berkley also discussed her feelings upon learning that Keaton had died. âI’m very, very deeply sad about her passing,â she said. âBut what a legacy, not only as an artist but as a woman, a creative.â
She continued, âAnyone who knew her knew what a huge heart she had. And just anyone was lucky to be in her orbit. Just a loving, loving, special woman.”
Upon the news of her passing, many stars paid tribute to Keaton. She had an incredible impact on the industry and will be missed by many. The actress leaves a legacy and is survived by two children, daughter Dexter and son Duke. She also leaves behind a beloved golden retriever dog named Reggie.
