A host of BBC stars have publicly supported the husband of Scott Mills after his return to social media.
Sam Vaughan, who met Scott at a radio event in 2016, has posted a picture on Instagram commemorating their second anniversary two months after the former Radio 1 host’s sacking.
Scott, 53, was dismissed from his breakfast slot in March in the wake of historic allegations of sexual offences on a teenager.
Taking to Instagram, Sam shared a photo of the two holding hands as they walked down the aisle wearing tuxedos after their wedding in Spain.
Commenting underneath, Scott’s former BBC colleagues shared their support as Zoe Ball wrote: ‘2 years [heart] Love you [four red heart emojis]’.
Rylan Clark and Sara Cox also posted a string of hearts in the comments section of the post, which has been liked more than 15,000 times.
This comes after former X Factor star Rylan grew emotional as he reflected on losing friends to ‘cancel culture’.
The 37-year-old appeared on ITV’s The Assembly and said that it was ‘really tough’ when asked how he felt about his friends being cancelled.
Sara, who also commented, has been friends and colleagues with Scott at the BBC for three decades and was a guest at Scott and Sam’s wedding in 2024.
Scott first joined BBC Radio 1 in 1998 as the host of the early morning breakfast show before taking over from Sara as maternity cover in the early evening.
In 2022, he then moved over to Radio 2, replacing Steve Wright before moving back to breakfast in January 2025, replacing Zoe Ball. He remained in this slot until his dismissal from the BBC in March 2026.
Scott had been questioned in 2018 over allegations relating to activity between 1997 and 2000, but the case was dropped due to a lack of evidence.
It was later discovered that the BBC had known at the time, but the current management of the broadcaster are believed to have been unaware of the alleged victim’s age.
The BBC then released a statement confirming that they had ‘terminated’ Mills’ contracts after citing ‘new information’.
Since then, the DJ and Celebrity Race Across the World star is believed to be taking legal action against the BBC for his sacking after being left ‘furious’.
In addition to being fired, an episode of Celebrity Bake Off was pulled from broadcast in April which would have featured him.
In the same month, it was also confirmed that he would no longer be hosting the Race Across the World podcast.
Now, Scott is being supported by his husband Sam at their home in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.
