<p id=”par-1_12″><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/sean-diddy-combs/?swcfpc=1″>Sean “Diddy” Combs</a> is throwing himself on the mercy of the court. </p>
<p id=”par-2_37″>On Thursday, the rapper sent a letter to the judge overseeing his case, begging him for leniency. <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/sean-diddy-combs-mom-begged-judge-mercy-despite-terrible-mistakes.html/”>Combs will be sentenced</a> on Friday after being convicted in July of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. </p>

<p id=”par-3_72″>“I take full responsibility and accountability for my past wrongs. This has been the hardest 2 years of my life, and I have no one to blame for my current reality and situation but myself,” Diddy wrote in his missive to Judge Arun Subramanian (via <a href=”https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/02/entertainment/sean-diddy-combs-letter” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>CNN</a>). “In my life, I have made many mistakes, but I am no longer running from them. I am so sorry for the hurt that I caused.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_72″>The Bad Boy Records founder went on to express remorse for the committing domestic violence against <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/cassie-ventura-says-diddy-made-sex-acts-her-full-time-job-in-letter-to-the-judge.html/”>his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura</a>, saying that he “literally lost my mind” and that he was “dead wrong for putting my hands on the woman that I loved.” (In her victim impact statement, Ventura has expressed skepticism that he had changed, writing that he will alway be the “same cruel, power-hungry, manipulative man that he is.”)</p>
<p id=”par-5_36″>“I lost my way. I got lost in my journey. Lost in the drugs and the excess,” Diddy’s letter continued. “My downfall was rooted in my selfishness. I have been humbled and broken to my core.” </p>
<p id=”par-6_26″>“The old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn,” he added. “Prison will change you or kill you—I choose to live.” </p>

<p id=”par-7_73″>Diddy also said that he was “sober for the first time in 25 years” and was working dealing with his “anger issues.” He also shared a story about <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/inmate-says-diddys-weekly-class-bars-brings-love-unit.html/”>mentoring fellow inmates</a> in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he was been incarcerated since September 2024. The Grammy-winner also described “inhumane” condition in the jail and said he hoped to be released so that he could be with his elderly mother and his seven children.</p>
<p id=”par-8_17″>Combs is facing up to 10 years in prison on each count on which he was convicted. </p>
