Former âThe Bachelorâ star and âSpecial Forcesâ season 2 champion Nick Viall has his eyes on the athletes competing in season 4.
Viall, 44, shared his predictions for the season 4 cast during the Thursday, August 7, episode of âThe Viall Filesâ podcast.
Athletes Versus Reality Stars
While there are many athletes competing on this upcoming season of âSpecial Forces,â like NBA player Nick Young, Olympic soccer player Christie Pearce Rampone, and NFL players Randall Cobb, Andrew East, and Johnny Manziel, Nick had his thoughts on these cast members.
âEric [Decker] is obviously a former NFL player,â Viall said. âNo NFL players have passed a course because itâs an emotional test more than a physical test, because at some point, theyâre literally torturing you for eight to 10 days straight. You are made to feel like your worst self.â
As with the first three seasons, the celebrities will take on demanding training led by an elite team of ex-Special Forces operatives. Fans of the show might think these athletes will excel, but Viall wanted to remind viewers not to underestimate the reality stars.
He said on his podcast, âIn the first two seasons, of the five people who passed the course, three of them were from Bachelor Nation.â
Nick Viall is correct, as he won the show alongside Tyler Cameron in season 2. Then, âThe Bacheloretteâ star Hannah Brown also passed the final test during season 1.
Families Competing During Season 4
While we have athletes, Olympians, and reality/internet stars competing during season 4 of âSpecial Forces,â viewers will also be able to watch family members compete on the show. What family members are competing?
Fans of the show will see âReal Housewives of New Jerseyâ and âDWTSâ alum Teresa Giudice join her daughter, Gia Giudice, in the competition. In addition, Jessie James Decker and Shawn Johnson will join their husbands, Decker and East, for season 4.
Nick questioned these pairings and wondered how it could play out if one wanted to quit and the other wanted to stay.
Advice for the New Contestants
The season 2 winner said that one person from the new cast, Brianna âChickenfryâ LaPaglia, reached out before filming started. He told the influencer that the show isnât for the faint of heart.
âBriana did reach out to me and ask me if she should do it,â the former âBachelorâ said. âI didnât get confirmation that she was doing it. [Viall] was like, âYou should definitely do it, and I think you will do well.â I gave her just a couple of tidbits and then never heard back.â
Nick Viall went on to talk about the show and how itâs not your average unscripted show, saying, âItâs not a reality TV show. It is a real-life simulation. They are not engaging with producers. There are no craft services. Thereâs no downtime. No one is making you avocado toast while you do your makeup or anything like that. Youâre in a real-life special forces training simulation.â
Itâs not about compensation either, as Nick claimed the contestants are all paid the same whether they last one day or win the show. He added, âThereâs no incentive. They all got paid what they got paid. They can leave all they want and still get the same amount of money. Itâs only for pride.â
âSpecial Forcesâ season 4 premieres on Fox Thursday, September 25, at 9/8c.
