The mask is finally slipping. At least one player will uncover the true identity of the Front Man in “Squid Game” Season 3. The hint came straight from series star Lee Byung-hun.
The actor stopped by “The Tonight Show” on Tuesday to hint at major twists ahead in the final season of Netflixâs most-watched hit.
What to Expect From Squid Game Season 3
For those new to the series, the Front Man â portrayed by Lee â is the masked mastermind behind the brutal competition, where 456 desperate players risk their lives for a chance to win 456 billion won.
Seasons 2 and 3 pick up with Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), the lone survivor, who steps back into the deadly arena with hopes of bringing it down from the inside. Among those in the shadows is Leeâs Front Man, who secretly returns as In-ho â a man crushed by debt and his wifeâs medical bills, whose unlikely bond with Gi-hun adds a haunting layer to the gameâs high-stakes drama.
Lee Byung-hun Hints at Front Manâs Identity Reveal
During his chat with Jimmy Fallon, Lee joined in a playful game with two buttons, modeled after the showâs infamous vote buttons.
In Squid Game, those buttons decide whether players move on to the next deadly round. On The Tonight Show, Fallon used them to press Lee for clues about Season 3.
âDo more players learn your identity in Season 3?â Fallon asked. After a pause, Lee pressed the O button â meaning yes.
Will the Front Man Play the Games?
When Fallon asked if the Front Man would take part in any of the games this season, Lee hit both the X and O buttons, leaving fans guessing. He repeated the move when asked if someone else might now be running the Squid Game.
âWe know there will be new games, but do any old games return?â Fallon pressed. Lee paused, prompting Fallon to joke, âIf you hit both again, I swear.â With a sly grin, Lee hit both buttons with one hand â a perfect Front Man move.
Could There Be a Front Man Spinoff?
For Fallonâs final question â âCould we see a Front Man spinoff one day?â â Lee pressed O, hinting yes.
As the show wrapped, Fallon unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for “Squid Game” Season 3.
The record-breaking series â still Netflixâs most-watched hit â returns to screens worldwide on the 27th, with fans everywhere counting down the days.
