Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash are still not legally married four years after their intimate wedding at their family home.
The I’m A Celebrity couple tied the knot at their £1, 200,000 Essex home, Pickle Cottage, back in July 2022.
Former X Factor star Stacey, 36, revealed there were technicalities surrounding their ceremony due to their decision to marry at home and needing a civil ceremony licence for the property.
And although the couple were planning to register their marriage soon after, they haven’t got around to doing so due to their busy schedules and family life.
Metro understands that the pair have not intentionally lied or misled any fans and Stacey previously addressed the issue of their marriage licence shortly after the nuptials.
‘To get married anywhere legally, the place has to have a “civil ceremony” licence. One of the requirements for this licence is that the premises must be made “readily available” for ceremonies,’ she wrote.
‘As this is our private family home and we need it to remain that way we couldn’t go for that option.
‘So we are having a relaxed private blessing in front of our closest friends & family and a ceremony of our love to each other and we will register our marriage legally after… Hope this helps.’
It comes after The Sun claimed their decision not to register the marriage has ‘raised eyebrows’ with TV execs.
Since the wedding, the pair have been showcasing their family life withchildren Rex, six, Rose, four, and Belle, three, Zachary, 18, and Leighton, 13, and Harry, who Joe had with an ex-partner in 2007, in their BBC reality series Stacey & Joe.
Stacey has also been busier than ever with lucrative ranges with Asda and Primark.
Joe and Stacey first met back in 2010 as she was crowned queen of the jungle on ITV.
Joe, who had won the show in 2018, was hosting the ITV2 spin-off, and the pair became friends, although romance didn’t blossom as Stacey was in a relationship at the time.
EastEnders star Joe later admitted he had fancied Stacey, but the timing wasn’t right.
On Christmas Eve 2020, Joe got down on one knee and popped the question, with Stacey saying at the time: ‘To the moon and back bub. I have no words.’
The pair tied the knot at Pickle Cottage in 2022 in a traditional Jewish ceremony in a marquee in their back garden with Towie’s James Argent performing for guests.
Just two weeks ago Stacey appeared on ITV’s This Morning, where she set the record straight about her marriage with Joe after she was seen without her wedding ring.
Host Ben Shephard asked: ‘There are these crazy rumours going on about the two of you at the moment… What’s going on there, Stace?
‘You’ve not been wearing your ring. There might be some issues going on?’
To which Stacey replied: ‘What are they? Go on. There’s a new rumour each week! Do you know what, I am terrible. I don’t read any of that stuff. In fact, does anyone anymore?’
‘But yeah, we just… Have I not been wearing my ring? Probably took it off to go to the toilet, or something.’
